Pat the Bat

Pat the Bat[1] is a bat enemy that only appears in Hotel Mario. They first appear in Ludwig's Thump Castle Hotel. Pats fly haphazardly around the screen, and a certain amount generate from underneath the lowest floor per stage. They can also open doors upon contact. To prevent this, Mario or Luigi can wait around and by eliminate all of them with jumps or fireballs, or rush the stage and potentially run the risk of multiple Pats scattering and getting out of hand (which may result in more wasted time).
