File categories

Hello, Dinoshi 64. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups: Images Audio/video files Company images Film images Game images Merchandise images Publication images System images Television series images Website images Company media files Film media files Game media files Merchandise media files Publication media files System media files Television series media files Website media files When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: [[Category:Super Mario World images]] or [[Category:Super Mario World media files]] Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Edit sniping

Just FYI, make sure to ask the uploader before going ahead and adding all of their images to articles (or at least wait a period of time to see if they'd do it), because it's possible they planned to add them themselves soon after uploading them; otherwise it may be considered edit-sniping (taking over someone else's edits right before they were about to make them). (EDIT: Just realised the user doesn't usually add to the non-game pages right away so you may have noticed this, though just in case, it's best to ask in the future, for anyone.) Battle League images

If you're making crops of images from websites, you should upload them in the same format as the original image on the websites (which is JPG in this case). The PNG might be because you're screenshotting the webpage if that's what you're doing, but you can save the source image directly if you right-click it (tap/hold on mobile) and "save image", then crop it on your device. Its vs it's

About "List of appearances by date (Yoshi)"

In the appearances list located in your sandbox, you could pipe the years of appearances to the list of games by date. For example: [[List of games by date#2003|2003]] becomes 2003. Just my suggestion, no harm done.  ^P_nn^yC_ryg^r  05:35, May 18, 2023 (EDT)
