Yellow Konks[1] are enemies in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. They are yellow-colored variants of Konks that attack by dropping downwards when the player character is beneath them. Yellow Konks appear floating on the ceilings, moving right and left, and turning around when they touch a wall. When they spot the player, they will move to their position, and then they will light the red arrow on their face and drop down. If they cannot reach them, instead they will drop themselves to the nearest position to the player they can reach. If a Yellow Konk hits the player, it will not insta-defeat them; instead, it will deal normal damage. The player can stay on top of a Yellow Konk, though if the Yellow Konk is attached to the ceiling, when it returns to its original position it will damage the player on top of it. When the player is on top of a Yellow Konk and jumps and falls on it, it will trigger the Yellow Konk to drop. When a Yellow Konk drops down, it will defeat any enemies below it, break jewel blocks in three hits, and plow through goo.
They first appear in the level Jewel-Block Cave and return in An Uncharted Area: Wubba Ruins. In Jewel-Block Cave, Yellow Konks, alongside Blue Konks, are the main enemies throughout the course and are the first enemies encountered overall. The first Yellow Konk found in the level is needed to reach a ? Block with a power-up inside. The first 10-flower coin is inside some jewel blocks that are below a Yellow Konk. The second 10-flower coin can be found in a secret area with a pool of water and a Yellow Konk guarding it. Near the end of the level, Yellow Konks appear alongside Blue Konks where they both try to crush the player by breaking the jewel block in the center. A large variant of Yellow Konk known as Wonder Konk also appears in the level.
In An Uncharted Area: Wubba Ruins, various Yellow Konks appear where they plow through the goo in an attempt to damage the player. They can defeat Wubbas swimming through the goo below them. To get the first 10-flower coin in the level, the player needs to trigger a Yellow Konk to drop down and break some Brick Blocks that are blocking the coin. To access the area containing the second 10-flower coin, the player needs to guide a Yellow Konk to plow through the goo blocking the pipe entrance. If a Yellow Konk hits the player while in Wubba form, it deals normal damage, making them shrink to the size of a normal Wubba.
