Relatives

Blue Konks[1] are enemies in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. They are upside-down, blue-colored variants of Konks that attack by dropping upward when the player character is above them. Blue Konks float along the ground, moving left and right, and turning around when they touch a wall. When a Blue Konk spots the player character, it emits a sound and moves toward their position; afterward, the red arrow on its face lights up and it drops upward. If a Blue Konk cannot reach the player directly, it instead drops upward to the closest position to the player that it can reach. If a Blue Konk hits the player, it deals normal damage rather than instantly defeating them. The player can stand on top of a Blue Konk without taking damage, though they must move quickly, as it will crush anything above it when attacking. When a Blue Konk drops upward, it defeats any enemies above it, breaks jewel blocks in three hits, and plows through goo.

They are first encountered in Jewel-Block Cave and reappear in An Uncharted Area: Wubba Ruins. In Jewel-Block Cave, Blue Konks, alongside Yellow Konks, are the main enemies throughout the level. They are only encountered in the second section of the level. To reach the area containing the second 10-flower coin, the player needs to guide a Blue Konk and trigger it to hit some Brick Blocks, revealing a vine that leads to the area. Near the end of the level, Blue Konks appear alongside Yellow Konks, where both try to crush the player by breaking the jewel blocks in the center.

In An Uncharted Area: Wubba Ruins, as in the previous level, Blue Konks only appear in the second section, where several of them plow through the goo in an attempt to damage the player. They can defeat Wubbas swimming through the goo above them. To get the last 10-flower coin in the level, the player needs to trigger a Blue Konk to drop upward and use it to reach the area containing the coin. To get the level's Wonder Flower, the player needs to trigger another Blue Konk into hitting a ? Block above, which contains the flower. If a Blue Konk hits the player while in Wubba form, it deals normal damage, making them shrink to the size of a normal Wubba.
