The 'Shroom:Issue XX
AHHHHHHH!!! I’ve really done it now, haven't I? This comparison is gonna make more enemies for me than the Daisy one did! Anyway, yeah, there are many Mario fans, Sonic fans, Sonic haters, Mario haters(?), and Waluigi lovers in this wiki. I'm not coordinated enough to please all of you, so let's see how it goes. By the way, there is a thread on the General Discussion board at the forums where you can give me suggestions now.
What can I say? Anybody could easily picture “The Mario” in their head, and many of you probably have tattoos on your back of Mario. Red hat, overalls, blah blah. We've actually seen Mario mostly naked before; the time that Toad nearly fainted in doing so(for those of you who didn’t catch the reference, superstarsaga). But it’s mostly the ‘Stache. Nothing can beat it. Nothing. It's one of the main reasons Waluigi won against Daisy a while back. So, his outfit is original and cool, but he was too stupid to choose the lousy red suit; THE GREEN ONE'S THERE TOO!! Nah, Luigi is more qualified for green.
Hedgehog, blue, little wrist bands or whatever, yeah, your basic Sonic the Hedgehog. He, with the exception of the little wrist thing, is entirely naked. LOOK AWAY, CHILDREN!! Aaaanyway, there’s really not that much that can be said about the hedgehog. I mean… what, yellowbelly? Does that signify he’s weak? Also, one thing I must mention; awesome shoes. Those things are bad
SUPER MARIO BR*shot*. Donkey Kong is the correct answer. Anyway, we all loved watching Mario get run over by barrels, get his butt lit on fire by trouble bugs, picking up umbrellas or handbags and whatnot. What a classic. He wasn’t even a plumber back then. He was a carpenter. He was probably better off too; does Mario ever get paid for his work anyway? Anyway, he saved his girlfriend(who mysteriously disappeared for over 20 years after that), defeated an ape, and was happy. Or at least that’s what everybody thinks.
Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. Another great classic. Dunno why Sega went way off-course in the more recent 3-d games, but that’s not the topic. Sonic the Hedgehog was a great game, but naming the game directly after the main character? Be more creative(like naming it after the main villain)! The objective of the game is entirely different from Donkey Kong, and it’s a newer game too. If anybody asked me which would I rather play, StH or DK, I would have to say Sonic. It’s a great game, fun fun . Anyway, since this is not the game review section, I will say that Sonic did a better job in his debut than Mario did. Amazing.
Mario, as before-mentioned, started as a carpenter, and then led his career as a plumber. Well, that is, only until he went into the wrong sewage pipe to come out in a land of walking chestnuts and flying turtles. He eventually had to rescue a stranger princess, but to his shock, a mushroom told him(Snake: It talks?; Otacon: Yes!) that the princess was in another castle. I mean, how depressing could that be? He had 7 more worlds to go after that long journey? And little did he know that he would soon be spraying everything with water, jumping around in circles, flying, becoming a bee, becoming paper, and run his own hotel in the future. I’m glad I was not put in his fate. Sorta.
Sonic set out on an epic journey to get rings and defeat a scientist named Dr. Eggman. Or as I like to call him, Dr. Robotnik. RINGS! Why? Well, then again, if someone asked me which was better, mushrooms or rings, I think I’d say rings too. Ever wonder what Sonic does with those rings? I sure don’t think he starts some sort of jewelry with that whole collection. Maybe they’re a type of currency, I dunno. Sonic, after much begging from fans and to Sega’s glory, was featured in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. BUT NO RINGS? Aw, c’mon. I swear, there weren’t even any Sonic-related items in the whole game, geez. But perhaps that’s what you get for being 3rd party, since I didn’t see any MGS items either. Perhaps.
Mario, Sonic, Sonic, Mario. There was even a game that was all about the two of them and their series. This should be quite intense. So, you know the drill. Click “Show”, and see the disappointment in all of the people’s faces that wanted the other plumber/hedgehog to win.WINNER<showhide>__HIDER__<hide>
MARIO – I’m not sure what to say besides “Well, what did you expect?”. I can expect many people on a MarioWiki to hate Sonic, but I sure can’t imagine Mario haters on a MarioWiki. But don’t get me wrong, Sonic is awesome too. :D And I'm sure Mario and Sonic will once again appear some time, some place again in the same game, to prove their rivalry. It shall never end.

Before you touch the flag at the end of a level, make sure your coin total is a double digit of the same number. (ex: 00,11,22,33,44,55,66,77,88, or 99). Touch the flag when the last digit of your remaining time is the same as the last digit of your coin total. By doing this tricky maneuver, you'll receive a 1-Up.
(For example, you have 77 coins and there is 167 time left.)

Hi; and welcome to Upcoming Games! Yeah; I'm the new writer of this section... so, let's get it started!
A newly released non-Mario game; Captain Rainbow is an action-adventure game, developed and published by Skip Ltd. and Nintendo. While it is not a Mario game, a few of the series' characters' make appearances in the game; while one is possibly known to have a major role, Birdo. Mario makes a small cameo in the game; only appearing as a picture on a house wall.
The game was released on August 28, only in Japan.
Enjoy with Wii
While not technically a game; Enjoy with Wii is a new selection for the Wii. It consists of Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, and Mario Power Tennis. Any further information on this selection is currently unknown; but it is known that it'll be released in 2009.
Made in Ore
Made in Ore is the sixth WarioWare game released. It is supposedly coming out in early 2009; but the exact release date is unknown. As its seen; the game allows the player to create his or her own microgame; but any more info is currently unknown.
Mario & Luigi RPG 3!!!
Mario & Luigi RPG!!! is an upcoming game for the Nintendo DS. It is the sequel to Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. It is planned to be released during the same time as Made in Ore. Playable characters include Mario, Luigi, and possibly Bowser. Fawful is speculated to be appearing in the game; possibly as the main antagonist of the game, alongside, possibly, the Shroobs.
The current story of the game is unknown; but it is said that a disease is possible a major part of the story.
Wario Land: Shake It!
Wario Land: Shake It! is a new Wario game for the Wii. The story takes place in the Shake Dimension, where the Shake King has captured Queen Merelda and her Merfles. Wario is then sent on a journey to defeat the Shake King, as told by a Merfle and Captain Syrup; but the possible "main reason" is that Wario wants the Bottomless Coin Sack (which is then stolen by Syrup at the end of the game).
Fact 2. With 8 wedges of health, the game would be much easier than with the three. With 8, that meant there were probably no Life Shrooms, and it could also mean there was more hazards and harder bosses to get around. It would have made the game more Super Mario 64/Sunshine like, with bosses and enemies that are more numerous and try to attack more.
Fact 3. X/100 star bits? That would change the entire game so much. With only 100 star bits are allowed, there were probably no Hungry Lumas. Perhaps this meant to be like the 100 coins missions in the earlier games, where getting 100 coins grants a star. This could also mean that Purple Comets would not appear in the game.
Fact 4. Rosalina in her different design would probably not have changed much of the game, but being related to Peach would have probably changed up a few things. The Storybook may have been different, possibly talking about Rosalina and Peach playing as children and the like. Being related may have also changed up the ending, making it more like a family reuinion between Peach and Rosalina. Rosalina may have also called Peach my cousin or sister, however they were related, instead of Mario's "special one" like in the final game.
So overall, these beta elements would've changed the game majorly. The ones that might be for the better would have been facts 2 and 4. The game would've displayed more of a challenge in number 2, and number 4 probably would've made a deeper, more emotional plot. So, that's it for this month's edition of Beta Elements!
Hey, guys, Garlic Man here. My Character Comparison is a bit late this issue, due to extreme business and procrascination... But anyway, sorry about that. Hello folks. I'm R.O.B. and I'm here to host the Character Battle'!
Kamek: Kamek is the evil servant for his lord Bowser. He wears a distinctive green-blue color in his cloak and specializes in transforming Mario's enemies to make them grow into immense proportions; he turns 'em giant.
Kammy: Kammy is Bowser's right hand woman in the Paper Mario series, appearing only in those games. Like Kamek, she can use powerful variants of magic against her opponents.

Well, that's it for today folks. I'm R.O.B. and I will see you next time in Character Battle!
Good Game:Mario Kart 64
Although Super Mario Kart is the first game in the series, this was called by many to be the game that made the series famous. Mario Kart 64 was released a few month's after Super Mario 64 and it was just as good. It had an All-Star cast of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Toad, Wario, and Bowser. It's goal is simple, to get to the finish line in 3 laps before anyone else. To help you achieve this goal, there are certain items you can use. Bananas, Koopa Shells, Lightning,Star, etc. The people in last were the ones who got the best items, but the items weren't what mattered, it was your driving. The courses are modeled after the characters personalities; For example, Peach's is all pretty, and Donkey Kong's is in a Jungle. The only bad thing was the lack of unlockables, which is O.K, seeing that this was an early made game. So all-in-all, Mario Kart 64 is a classic/new age game that makes us all (well ME anyway) feel fuzzy on the inside.
Bad Game:Mario Kart Wii
I already know I'm going to get a lot of negative feed back on this, but my voice needs to be heard. Okay, So here's my side of this twisted story. Super Smash Brothers Brawl just came out and I stayed up playing till my mom started getting bloodshot in the eyes telling me to go to bed. I eventually got bored of it and started waiting for another game: Mario Kart Wii. I waited till April 28th, stopped by at GameStop (after Church of course) and picked up the game. After a few hours, I was dissapointed to tears. This game has so many things against my love of Mario games that I don't even consider it a game. Okay, let's take a look at the title first. To the average gaamer, this seems normal, but to the obsessive and loyal Mario fan, you can spot the lazzyness. For those of you who don't know, this was also the beta name. Games in the beta stage don't have real creative title's. For example, Wario Land: Shake It! was originally titled Wario Land:Wii. They basically make the full game, then give it it's cool name afterward. I guess they just spent so much time making this game untrue to Mario Kart tradition, that they didn't bother to change the name. Since we're on the subject of Beta, let's talk about characters that were going to be in the game. Boo and Goomba, both classic characters, were going to make a special appearnance in the game. At the last minute they took them out and replaced them with other characters I wouldn't play as for the life of me. Some of the characters in the selection character selection seem like a joke. One character that really burns me up is Rosalina. She appeared in ONE game, ONLY ONE! There were so many diffrent characters that regularly appear in the Marioverse, but nope, they decided to give a stupid newcomer, who is just as useless as Peach is in Super Mario Galaxy, to be in the game. Another unnescessary character is Baby Daisy, which is a baby version of Princess Daisy. This game marked the first appearence of Baby Daisy. So let me get this straight; They put in a baby version of a character, who only appeared in one main game, as apposed to other, better characters? How does that make sense in ANY DEMENSION! Dimentio probably couldn't even understand this travesty in the D Dimension! Anyway, the only character that I REALLY wanted in this game wasn't in this at all. That character my friend, is Petey Piranha. He's appeared in pretty much every Mario Sport game in the franchise since his first appearence in Super Mario Sunshine, he even appeared Strickers Charged. But when it comes to Mario Kart, the producers thought "Why put in someone who is almost a regular, when we can put in a useless princess and a bratty baby?". I'll tell you why, BECAUSE IT WOULD MAKE MORE SENSE!
Let's get on to actual game play now. The first flaw you notice is the Wii Wheel. Much like the game designers creativity, it's 2 sizes 2 small. Not only that, but the slightest tilt will cause your driver to go falling off the edge and get towed by a Lakitu. The Wheel was so annoying that I had to switch to the Wiimote & Nuchaku just to get to 150cc. After about a half hour of practicing, you'll finally be readdy for the Grand Prix. So your in 1st, feeling proud of yourself when .... A blue shell comes your way. It's okay I just gotta stay positive... then your struck by Lightning. No matter, I can still make 3rd... you get squished by someone with a Mega Mushroom. That's it, it dosen't even matter how good you are at driving you just need is a good ite.. BULLET BILL! GRAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH! What's sickingly ironic is that one of the creators of the game took out persenolized items because they thought it wasn't about driving, but getting good items. [insert my sarcastic laugh here].
For those of you who like this game, i'm not saying it's all bad. It's a decent game if you're playing with your friends. This is because a good friend usually plays by the rules, and people on Wi-fi are nice as well. I just can't see how people can overlook the main problems of this game. So as long as you steer clear of Grand Prix, the Wii Wheel, and those annoying new characters, this game might be playable for the attentive gamer.
So there you have it. My favorite and least favorite Mario Kart games. Now I'm gonna go make a sandwich.
