Hi there, 'Shroom readers! Welcome to a fresh new release of The 'Shroom coming a week after the Awards Ceremony where unfortunately Hammer Bros. "won" the Worst Enemy award again. I guess a certain someone's campaign didn't exactly work out as intended unfortunately. Plan for next year: Even more funding into the campaign!!

Despite this being quite the busy month for our community members, many of them are still here to provide plenty of sections for you to enjoy! The level of effort every one of us here is providing is quite phenomenal, and this is all to make this an enjoyable place. Passions, dedications, and enthusiasms is impressive here. Trust me; I am not saying this lightly. Just think of the amount of stuff that has been happening. Just think of Lakituthequick (talk) who has been keeping records of everything Awards, and maintaining a website to make it so much easier for the 'Shroom staff to upload the newspaper effectively. Think of GBA (talk) who has been hosting popular Killing Games, and designing so many fantastic arts for the newspaper this year. Think of Waluigi Time (talk) who has been doing so many many stuff from creating Shmaluigi who won the best Community Character award, writing multiple 'Shroom sections, crafting several forum games, and being a fantastic Sub-Director for the newspaper. Think of Reverse Input (talk) who is putting so much energy in creating different mafia games for folks here to enjoy. That was only to name a few, but there are even more folks like them in this community, and thanks to all of them, it is quite hard coming to this little area of the web without a smile, since there is always something fun going on. It sure did bring me a smile more often than I can tell, and I want to thank you all for this. Thank you for bringing some much positive energy to this place.

You may wonder where I going with this. Well, maybe it is simply me being nostalgic because I do have an important announcement to share. Effective upon the release of this issue, I am stepping down from the Core 'Shroom Staff, and retiring from the Super Mario Wiki community. Earlier this year, a close family member of mine had some very unfortunate news, which led me to reconsider what I want to focus my energy on, and what I would love to undertake in the future. Initially, I was considering retiring after the end of this term, fulfilling my duties before passing the torch to other folks. However, as time went on, and as I grew busier than ever during this summer, I came to realize that the passion I had for this place has been declining quicker than I anticipated. After reflecting on it, I recognize that it will not be bearable for me to keep doing this until January. It will not be okay for myself, and not for The 'Shroom either, especially as its Director. It is extremely important for me that The 'Shroom is led by someone who has passion and plenty of energy to fulfill the different obligations needed to keep the level of quality that makes this newspaper fun and appreciate. Unfortunately, I am not the ideal person for the job anymore, and out of respect for my staff mates, writers and readers alike, I prefer to step down now, instead of keeping going and doing a subpar job that will most certainly affect the quality of the paper.

Before concluding, I want to thank you for your support for all these seven years that I have been part of this community, and as well for the privilege I had for serving in different leadership roles such as your Poll Committee Chairperson, Statistics Manager, and for a short period as your 'Shroom Director. I definitely had a good time here, and I will remember it fondly.

With that said, I do have some exciting news for you: Waluigi Time, your Sub-Director, will now be serving as your 'Shroom Director for the remainder of the year! He will have some important stuff to cover on this matter, so make sure to read his notes below. Allow me to thank him for joining me in this fun adventure while it lasted. You are a fun pal and I am glad that I was able to build a great friendship with you here. You are a fantastic contributor for the newspaper, and I know you will be a great Director for it. I wish you the best of luck for the future!

As for the staff, writers, and community members as whole. Thank you all for the memories, and please, do keep making this place safe and enjoyable! I know that you are now in good hands, and despite that I will be away from here, I am still excited to see you bring this newspaper to new heights. Have fun!

Aaaaalrighty, time for me to pack my stuff and my katana. A new odyssey is awaiting for me outside!

Farewell!

Ninja Squid, Director

Hello 'Shroom readers! We did it! We Awardsded! Once again the creativity of this community blows me away. If you haven't seen the Awards ceremony yet, definitely check it out, it was a really fun time!

First of all, I have to give a big thank you to Ninja Squid. For me personally, he's been a great friend who I've always felt had my back. He's partially responsible for the fact that I'm writing for The 'Shroom at all, and gave me the opportunity to join the Core Staff by asking me to tag along as Sub-Director. As far as this community is concerned, I really owe a lot to him, honestly, and I'm sure lots of other people here could say the same. I can say without a doubt that he will definitely be missed around here. On behalf of the entire staff of The 'Shroom, thank you so much for everything you've done for this paper and this community, and we wish you all the best as you move toward the future!

Anyway, with NS' departure and the change of leadership comes some important business. First of all, my predecessor Roserade (talk) has very graciously offered to serve as Sub-Director once again. I'm very thankful to him for offering to help out, and I'm confident that the two of us will make a great team and be able to finish out the term strong for you guys! Hopefully he doesn't mind his old office being repainted entirely purple and smelling like onions, though.

Second, we now have an opening on the Core Staff, as we are looking for a new Statistics Manager! Among the Statistics Manager's duties are handling the application process, maintaining spreadsheets for The 'Shroom, and basically everything involving, well, statistics. Be sure to check out the forum post for more info on the position, and if you're interested, please contact myself and Roserade with your application! Speaking of applications, if you're interested in writing for The 'Shroom, you can send your application to myself and Roserade as well for the time being until we get the new Statistics Manager appointed.

That's all from me for now. Enjoy the issue, and let me just say once more, thank you, NS! Good luck on your new odyssey, I'm sure you'll do great.
