Hello, hello everyone! :’D Welcome to the August issue of Fun Stuff! I would like to let you all know that my life has devolved into nothing but watching Dan Aykroyd films, listening to the Pitch Perfect 2 soundtrack every day, and spending countless hours watching random Vinesauce videos. I am also waging war on Fake News after MCD’s inexcusable comments regarding how poor our Fun Stuff parties actually are… well, I bet this’ll show him! YEAH! And I will be everyone’s fearless leader!

I would like to extend so many thank yous to Andymii (talk), Crocodile Dippy (talk), Marshal Dan Troop (talk), Stooben Rooben (talk), Super Mario Bros. (talk), Tucayo (talk), and Yoshi876 (talk) for making Fun Stuff so, so amazing last month. It made me so happy to see it at such a large length and I hope to capitalize on that going further. I would also like to thank Dippy and Twentytwofiftyseven (talk) for the wonderful, new coding. It looks so sharp and nnnghhh I love it!

If you are interested in signing up for Fun Stuff, take a look at an open section over on the sign-up page, and if any of those sections sound good and you are deeply interested, shoot me an application over on the forums!

Guess Who!

Written by: Andymii (talk)

Yoshi's House
Shhh… Yoshi is sleeping. “Yoooo… sheeee…

Welcome to ‘Shroom Issue 101! This is Guess Who! with your host, Andymii. Here, we challenge your knowledge of Mario characters by giving clues and hints and then asking you who the character is. There are three levels; can you solve them all?

I’m not going to give you 100 questions again like last week (“aww…”), but I DO have an interesting theme for you guys! This month’s theme theme is YOSHI!!! Though I’m not a huge fan of the Yoshi games, Yoshi himself is easily my favorite character. So why not celebrate issue 100+1 by making it all about the Yoshi sub-series?

Well, simply, simply pick a level, and get ready to start thinking! As always, feel free to suggest themes for future issues on my talk page.

(Dang, four questions feels so simple when compared to a hundred…)

  1. This character has a habit of running off cliffs when hurt.
  2. He is a green dinosaur.
  3. Bowser once trapped him in an egg.

Level 1: Easy

  1. In a game filled with babies, even the villain is a baby!
  2. He looks almost identical to his future self’s son.
  3. He’s even broken time and met his future self a few times.

Level 2: Normal

  1. This friendly guy serves as platform.
  2. He ain’t stupid!
  3. The MarioWiki worships him… don’t worry, I don’t quite understand this either. Somebody please explain this to me.

Level 3: Hard

  1. These thingies have propeller hats and swirly glasses.
  2. They resemble Fly Guys without a mask.
  3. They have the nerve to kidnap a baby destined to become a plumber who never plumbs.

Warm-Up: Yoshi! It doesn’t get much more obvious.

Easy: Baby Bowser! NOT Bowser Jr.

Medium: Poochy!

Hard: Toadies!

Well, how did you score? Regardless, thank you for playing Guess Who!, and I hope you learned some new Yoshi trivia. Check in September for more Guess Who fun!

Guess That Game!

Written by: Super Mario Bros. (talk)

Think you can solve this month's Guess That Game! puzzle? There are three challenges to solve: the first one is a Mario series video game, the second is a non-Mario Nintendo franchise video game, and the third is a non-Nintendo video game. Give it a go!

Challenge 1: Mario Game

  1. This 2007 video game was a significant departure from its predecessors in terms of gameplay.
  2. "Flipping" between 2D sidescrolling and 3D environments is a core element of the game.
  3. Four heroes unite with several supportive characters to prevent the destruction of the entire universe.

Challenge 2: Non-Mario, Nintendo Game

  1. This 2010 video game was also quite a bit different from previous entries in its series.
  2. The hero ends up being sucked into a patchy kingdom, and helps its prince rescue his land.
  3. The character's usual moves are replaced with a string of new ones.

Challenge 3: Non-Nintendo Game

  1. The alpha version was released in 2009, and the full game released in 2011.
  2. This game is extremely open-ended, and focuses on creation of structures, tools, and survival.
  3. The player's surroundings (time, climate, and location) have a huge impact on what they can find and make.

Mario Game
...Super Paper Mario!

Non-Mario, Nintendo Game

...Kirby's Epic Yarn!

Non-Nintendo Game

...Mojang's Minecraft!

That's all for this month! Be sure to check your answers and check back next time!

Word Search

Written by: Palkia47 (talk)

Howdy all! First off, I would like to thank all of the people who signed-up for and did the user word search last month, the amount of participating was outstanding and it made me so happy! Second off, this month’s word search is a bit of a low and not overly-crazy one. Continuing our Super Mario Maker-themed word searches, this month is for Super Mario Bros. 3! We will be focusing on Mario’s power-ups and the various lands/worlds encountered throughout the game! Enjoy, everyone!
