Game Sightings[edit]

Anybody think this could be redirected to Game Sightings? Aren't Mario, Bowser, etc. just background characters in Tetris DS? -- Sir Grodus

Can we just Redirect, also is an orphan page that I need to get rid of. Great Gonzo

This game has enough apperances of the characters, plus Bowser and other characters are "bosses" in the game, and Mario is "playable". Little Mouser.PNGPaper Jorge (Talk·Contribs)

It should be merged, it's not a Mario game with Tetris mechanic but rather a Tetris game with an handfull of Mario character. There's also cameo by Samus, Link ect so it was not like if Mario was the big star. The article about the movie "The Wizzard" got deleted even thought Mario have a pretty big role, so why this one should be any different?. And I don't think the "he's playable" argument work, we don't have an article about Famicom Grand Prix II: 3D Hot Rally even thought Mario and Luigi are (in a way) playable, don't we? Gofer

Agreed it should be merged. Mario riding YoshiXzelionETC

Besides, the article seems to be poorly written.--Aipom (talk)--

Well, alright, if that's your beef, how about I take a shot at rewriting it. No promises that I'll unearth enough for you to like the article, but if you delete all of my hard work, I'll just have to use it somewhere else... maybe on gamefaqs or something. But it'll be yours if you want it. Hope to have it all ready soon! Stumpers! 19:40, 5 June 2007 (EDT)

It's officially complete. Ugh... I hope I never have to do that again :) It was worth it, though. Stumpers! 21:28, 7 June 2007 (EDT)
Its almost (in a way) like SSB Series. Mario riding YoshiXzelionETC no merge....
Definately no merge. I was considering it until I looked though everything.Stumpers! 21:45, 7 June 2007 (EDT)

Stumpers' To-Do List[edit]

Here are the things that I/we need to do with the article. Please help!

  1. COMPLETE I see that I only got 19 of the 20 levels in the Standard mode... if someone wants to help, they could go into the Nintendo Database article on the game and look through all of the levels... ugh. I think the missing level is part of the extensive Mario-themed run at the beginning.
  2. More information on the play controls as part of the gameplay section would be nice. The best place to look is the online Intruction Booklet. Also, we need to discuss the score system and what exactly a "Tetris" is in-game. I believe it is clearing four blocks, and is worth lots of points, but I'm not sure.
  3. If someone could upload a picture of the PEGI "3+" rating logo (that's the European version of the ESRB) and pop it in the proper place in the infobox, that would be great. 12px is the appropriate size, and it can be altered by putting a |12px after the image title and sticking the whole thing in the infobox.
COMPLETE The same needs to be done for the ESRB "E" rating logo, except that the image has already been uploaded: File:ESRB E.png You can put that link right into the box just before the word Everyone for me, if you could.

If you can help me in any way, please do! Thank you! Stumpers! 19:53, 8 June 2007 (EDT)

Redo of the Levels[edit]

I am currently working on a chart of the information found in the levels section. Please do not edit the levels section. I am aware there are numerous problems, and I am adressing them in my chart. Take a look:

The table is now posted in the main article.

Not perfect, not complete, but it's getting there. Yeah, I see those bad links. Stumpers! 17:22, 13 August 2007 (EDT)

Don't link to the levels, but to the worlds. There's an article existing on World 1 (SMB). - Cobold (talk · contribs) 17:24, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
I'm going to try and create redirects to the individual levels. Sub-articles on those should be created, so red links should be acceptable there. ;) Stumpers! 23:31, 13 August 2007 (EDT)

Character Artwork and Merge Suggestion Questions[edit]

OK, there is [1] so we can remove the JPEGs and make way for the clean PNGs. Also, why are we covering artwork for non-Mario references, such as Link and Samus? Wouldn't this page be best merged with List of Mario references in video games? --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 03:28, 23 May 2016 (EDT)

I uploaded what I could for replacements and uploaded anything else related to the Mario series. Five pieces of artwork remain. 2/5 should be replaced but 3/5 are iffy because they aren't Mario game characters. Also these sprites are hard to come by for some reason. I can't just rip sprites from the games they came from because of the black outline Tetris DS developers put on them and the colors are intentionally off. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 17:46, 23 May 2016 (EDT)
In my opinion, I don't think this article should be merged. It's still technically a Mario game, unlike the other references in video games page. Since the Super Mario Wiki covers every Mario-related game, this game article should stay. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 00:21, 5 February 2017 (EST)
Is there something I am missing why this is a Mario game when the core gameplay is manipulating Tetriminos and the game is themed after Nintendo NES games? That would be like saying that Super Smash Bros. (series) is a Mario game. It's a Nintendo franchises crossover fighting game. I can see the argument that it makes references to the Mario universe where you can interact with those references, but calling it a Mario game is a stretch of the imagination. Don't look at it on the surface level. Look at it based on its core game play and tell me if it should be classified as a Mario game. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 17:13, 17 May 2017 (EDT)

Remaining artwork to be deleted in favor of PNGs[edit]
