Objection![edit]

I don't agree with the title of this article. Robotic Nightmare is the title the game gave that team. Like how Luigi got the title "Playmaker Captain". The name they get, is Super Team, which refers to the entire team rather than the leader, because there IS no leader; All the robots are equal. The score, however, reads "Super". So I would say an idividual Super Team robot would be a Super. Regardless of that, I say the article should be named Super Team..

Thoughts? General Guy 09:48, 6 August 2006 (EDT)

I wouldn't say every robot is called a Super, as other times when their name is displayed, it says Super Team. Anyway, I think that every member is a Robotic Nightmare, however, there is no one leader called Robotic Nightmare. But, at any rate, the article's name has been changed.

Are you sure the Super Team wasn't made by Bowser? -- Sir Grodus

It hasn't been confirmed, as far as I know, but it's a possibility.Waluigi Freak 99 16:35, 4 February 2007 (EST)

Yeah! It even says, Bowser's Super team, and, you fight them in BOWSER'S castle in the BOWSER cup. Do any of you even have the game? Maxlover2 19:42, 19 February 2007 (EST)

For once I agree with Max... Little Mouser.PNGPaper Jorge (Talk·Contribs)

Yow. Scaaaary. But at least Max is becoming a good contributor.. I agree too. 3dhammer.gif 3D, O_o 3dhammer.gif

So... It's true? Maxlover2 20:11, 19 February 2007 (EST) hey, am I really becoming a good contributor?

Hello???? Is it true? can I add it? Hello??? Max2 16:49, 23 February 2007 (EST) IT'S BEEN 4 DAYS!!!

Well... put simply... we don't know their origins, perhaps Bowser created them, perhaps he found them in a junkyard and reactivated them, perhaps he stole them from somewhere, WE DON'T KNOW THEIR ORIGINS, all we do know is that their working for Bowser. Waluigi Fan 21:15, 18 May 2007 (EDT)

In Charged's credits, you hear Bowser roar and he pushes a Super Team robot on-screen. I think this is confirmation they were made by Bowser. MrDrake 15:01, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

What? It only confirms that Bowser can boss them around. Waluigi Fan 20:39, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

Bowser seems to lack the intelligence required to create Robots. For all we know he could have gotten Dr. Eggman to make the robots. Which is very likely. They do seem like creations of Eggman. The King of the Boos

Uh, remember, he does have Kamek on his side. Kamek could've made them. And, King Boo, what the heck are you talking about? Dr. Eggman? That is ridiculous. My Bloody Valentine

For all we know, Kammy Koopa or Iggy could've made the Super Team; its speculation, we don't know who really built them, but the credit scene seem to indicate they're atleast affiliated with Bowser. -- Sir Grodus

Modeled after Waluigi[edit]

So the Super Team shares some of their animations with Waluigi, and the robots also have the same height as Waluigi. So should we state that the Super Team Bot is presumably modeled after Waluigi? Kaithehedgefox (talk)

Already in the last sentence of the first paragraph. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 21:24, February 6, 2020 (EST)
Umm.. on the page, it says "The Super Team shares some of their animations with Waluigi's, including their Super Striker animation." it doesn't explicitly mention that the Super Team Bot is modeled after Waluigi. So I think we should explicitly state that. Kaithehedgefox (talk)
Is there anything that says they were? They don't resemble Waluigi at all, only sharing animations. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 11:37, April 9, 2020 (EDT)
I know they don't resemble Waluigi, but, the reason why the robotic nightmare is designed after Waluigi, is because its abilities are based on Waluigi's. Kaithehedgefox (talk)
There's nothing in game confirming they were modeled after Waluigi, as far as I know. The shared animations were likely a way to save resources, as not every animation they have is shared with Waluigi, either. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 15:20, April 9, 2020 (EDT)
If they share animations, then more than likely they share modeled bone structure too. Ergo, they are almost undoubtedly modeled after him (or at least his modeling skeleton) from a game development standpoint, which I think is what Kai's getting at. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:23, April 9, 2020 (EDT)
I was more referring to the concept behind the character. Given their size and actions, yeah, Waluigi was very likely used as a base for them. But the article already says "The Super Team shares some of their animations with and are modeled after Waluigi" so *shrug* Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 15:26, April 9, 2020 (EDT)
This is an old discussion but let me pitch in: no, the Super Team isn't necessarily modeled after Waluigi. They are rigged using Waluigi's bones/use Waluigi's animations because he has the best proportions suited for their humanoid figure, as opposed to all other Mario characters, and it's far easier to simply reuse Waluigi's animations rather than recreate the animations from scratch. Reusing animations from other characters requires similar proportions for the easiest process. The modeling is an entirely separate process from rigging/animation and while it's likely they may have kept intact with Waluigi's proportions, that doesn't necessarily mean they're explicitly modeled after him. Super Team Bot[edit]

The Robotic Nightmare is also sometimes referred to as the Super Team Bot, like in this forum thread for example. So should we make Super Team Bot as a redirect? Kaithehedgefox (talk)

Name has to be official in some capacity for a redirect to be considered. --ExdeathIcon.png Lord G. matters. ExdeathIcon.png 02:20, April 9, 2020 (EDT)

Adding information on the Robotic Nightmare's abilities[edit]

Aside from the article stating that the Robotic Nightmare's chief/main abilities are based on Waluigi, the article seems to lack information on the Robotic Nightmare's additional abilities. So I think we should add more info about the robot's abilities. One thing I know that's not mentioned in the article is that the Robotic Nightmare is capable of flight via its rocket boots, as seen in one of the Super Team's victory animations. Kaithehedgefox (talk) 23:11, April 28, 2020 (EDT)

Information about abilities can be added, yeah. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 23:12, April 28, 2020 (EDT)

Name[edit]

Regarding the recently added suggestion for a split, I doubt these individual robots are called "Robotic Nightmare". You see this part only in the single player portion where you select a captain, and the title appears in the same position as, say, "Offensive Captain" or "Playmaker Captain" in the other characters, possibly making this a title rather than the names of the robots themselves. They're also merely called "Super" in the gameplay portion. Unless there's some website out there that confirms this otherwise, I don't think a split should be considered if the individual bots aren't even named that. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 15:00, January 16, 2022 (EST)

Problem is, "Super Team" also includes Robo-Kritter, but this article is more about the one-eyed bots, particularly with only one of the four cameoing in Charged. I think that perhaps "Super (robot)" could be split from Super Team in a manner similar to the recently proposed Kamek's Toadies split (and I have seen "Super" used as a noun before, so it's not that odd). Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:09, January 16, 2022 (EST)
I wouldn't be opposed to merge Robo-Kritter to this article either, since they're essentially a recolored Kritter anyway. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 15:12, January 16, 2022 (EST)
A three way split between Super Team, the robots, and the Kritter seems a bit unwieldy in my opinion. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 15:14, January 16, 2022 (EST)
I'm also wondering if the name "Robo-Kritter" is even official. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 15:36, January 16, 2022 (EST)
