I demand a move[edit]

If FLUDD is listed as FLUDD and not whatever FLUDD stands for, R.O.B. should be listed as R.O.B. Klaus Kratchet

I kinda agree. The name would be long but that's no reason not to move it. Oh, and it stands for Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device.

So... shouldn't this be... ya know... moved. HyperToad

There has been no opposition for ten months, you can move it. Stumpers! 17:11, 11 March 2008 (EDT)
Well, we need to delete the Redirect page first to move it, can someone delete that first? Marcelagus (TCE)

in brawl[edit]

yup he is in brawl McWolf

But not playable... Paper Jorge ( Talk·Contributions)·

yes he is playable McWolf

A screenshot showing its face and its name written below is not a valid confirmation. It doesn't say more than that it is a character appearing in the Subspace Emissary. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:26, 29 January 2008 (EST)

so see that uporg1224457.jpg McWolf

That's still only playable in the Subspace Emissary. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 14:03, 29 January 2008 (EST)

lol?...McWolf

What the...? And this screenshot is... a minigame? ._.--Caith Sith 16:18, 29 January 2008 (EST)

Didn't sakurai say you unlock charecyers through the subspace emissary? Sprite of Rex from Super Mario WorldPeachycakes 3.14

ROB has his own icon. Not the smash, his little gyromite thing, but I can't find any pictures. He's his own franchise. --Aipom_Banana_2.gif Aipom 424.png--

IMPOSSIBLE. R.O.B. CANNOT BE BOTH A NON-BOSS ENEMY AND PLAYABLE AT THE SAME TIME. MarioGalaxy2433g5 23:03, 8 February 2008 (EST) P.S. I LIKE CAPS.

Uh maybe theres a a R.O.B challenge were you have to defeat like one hundred R.O.B's and then you fight one more and you unlock them. And another thing alot of stuff in the SSB series may seem impossible like multiple characters of the same guy but different colors...who cares! Thats what games are made like! Impossible to the real world possible for the Video game world. I think he's playable BTWStorm Yoshi sig.pngStorm YoshiStorm Yoshi sig.png

Yes its official!!!Storm Yoshi sig.pngStorm YoshiStorm Yoshi sig.png

It was made official a long time ago. But like Cobold had originally said, a character with his name does not mean playable. If it did, we'd be playing as Master Hand and Taboo... Paper Jorge ( Talk·Contributions)·

R.O.B. is in Brawl. I use him all the time, and, most of the time, I get killed by my older brother. Make note that all characters can be unlocked through the Subspace Emissary. Did I spell that correctly? - User:J-Yoshi64

R.O.B. is in brawl and is a playable character; you unlock him in Subspace Emissary. Here is a photo of the Brawl selection screen (thanks to Super Smash Bros Brawl wiki) Brawl_Character_selection_screen.png

Main Image[edit]

Is it really ok to use a non-Mario related image as the main image? Stumpers! 20:54, 16 March 2008 (EDT)

Hmm, you do have a point, but as we do want seperate pics for each series, and since this is Nintendo Merchandise, meaning a product made by nintendo, this image is proper. Comparison: Wii Remote, Rumble Pak, etc. Marcelagus (TCE)
The use of Nintendo merchandise has only been previously used when a Mario game has used the accessory. No Mario game has ever used a R.O.B., but they have used the Wii Remote and the Rumble Pak. Stumpers! 21:50, 17 March 2008 (EDT)

ROB's appearance in SSBB influenced by the "Wall-E" movie?[edit]

Thoughts on this? Purplebackpack89 13:06, 14 December 2009 (EST)

It depends. Which came first, Brawl or Wall-E? - User:J-Yoshi64

MKDS Japanese Name[edit]

ROB, in the Japanese version of Mario Kart DS, was named HVC-012. So shouldn't it be in the "Names in Other Languages" section? -'Shroom64: The Mushroomeditor

Go ahead and add it in. If you find anything in other language we recommend you do it.--Artwork of Blue Yoshi in Yoshi Touch & GoNew Super YoshiArtwork of Red Yoshi in Yoshi Touch & Go 16:33, 21 March 2012 (EDT)

Super Paper Mario[edit]

I played the game and haven't found any image of R.o.b. in it. Francis has many dolls and posters from previous Paper Mario games, he's got a N64, NGC, Famicom, Super Famicom and a Virtual Boy, but no Rob! Maybe the editor mistook the Virtual Boy for a red rob? I'm gonna delete this information, so correct me if I'm mistaking.--Kombatgod (talk) 18:21, 4 October 2012 (EDT)

First official appearance[edit]

First Apparence
Official:
Gyromite, Stack-Up (1985)

I know ROB is an accessory for these two games, but does he actually appear in these games? I'd say no but I'm not 100% sure.
Banon (talk · edits) 14:45, 3 April 2013 (EDT)

Well, the ROB accessory is required to play those games so I'm pretty sure he technically counts as a "game" appearance. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 14:48, 3 April 2013 (EDT)
But you can (at least technically) play the games without ROB, you just have to use the second controller yourself. And he doesn't appear in the game anyway.

Trivia[edit]

The trivia is not related to Mario. It is only related to Pikmin 2. Should it be removed? I am goombob and I love paper mario games (talk) 11:59, 18 May 2013 (EDT)Goombob

Classification[edit]

On Smashpedia, his species is listed as "R.O.B." MarioLover54 (talk) 14:15, August 3, 2019 (EDT)

First appearance in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars ?[edit]

What do you think? Now that we know what these toys were supposed to look like in Booster Tower thanks to the remake, can we assume that R.O.B. was there all along? --Conradd (talk) 14:27, November 26, 2023 (EST)

Super Mario RPG Remake[edit]
