He's called "Porky" on the Dojo page about his music. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 10:55, 30 January 2008 (EST)

But that's his Japanese name, his American name is "Pokey". - Smashgoom202 17:49, 30 January 2008 (EST)

The game never appeared outside Japan! What's your source for that name? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 09:51, 31 January 2008 (EST)

Mother 3 wasn't released in America, yes. However, EarthBound (Mother 2) was released in America, and Pokey did appear in that game. For having played it, his name is infact Pokey Minch ingame. Blitzwing (talk · gnome work)
he has a type of a human in the glass thing does anyone no what it is? King Mario f_KMThumbm_38614a2.png

Er...King Mario, it appears your confused about who Porky is. Porky is the human. the machine is called a "Spider-Mech".Sergeant GuyHyper Guy (talk)Sergeant Guy

Old Pokey?[edit]

I think I've spotted a mistake.

"When Pokey is fought, he isn't the old Pokey that appeared with the machine from Mother 3, but rather, he appears as the young Pokey from EarthBound."

This is probably incorrect. If you look closely, you can see what looks like his moustache from Mother 3. [1]

Isn't it Porky in Brawl? I mean, the site says "Porky's Theme". Marcelagus (TCE)

Can't we at least add that he was called "Pokey Minch" in EarthBound. I think it's important... - Smashgoom202 08:41, 19 March 2008 (EDT)

Yeah. Although his offical name in Brawl is Porky, his alias of Pokey should be mentioned. HyperToad

Uhum- He was called "Pokey" in Earthbound, as his brother is called "Picky". One, Pokes, one Picks. However, in MOTHER 3, he was changed to Porky to match the Pigmask army and such. We must include something about this. Sergeant GuyHyper Guy (talk)Sergeant Guy

Was he ever referred to as "Porky Minch" in a Mario-related game? Shouldn't the article be titled just Porky? --Garlic Man (talk)

He was referred to simply as Porky in SSBB, but the name Pokeywas apparently a typo, so I think we should just leave this article as is and make a redirect from Porky to here.--FREAK ~Game GameBros.png Freak~ OUT!
There seems to be no mention of the surname "Minch" in SSBB (not even at the Dojo). Therefore, I agree with Marcelagus (Garlic Man). --Grandy02 10:33, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Yes, we should do that. Blue Pianta Bowser's lumaArtwork of a Koopa Paratroopa, from New Super Mario Bros. 22:01, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Bad translation[edit]

Should we say that Pokey was a bad translation on the page? It was a funny translation, because we have a character named Pokey --CaioNV 22:45, 20 February 2010 (EST)

No we shouldn't. GalladeBack.pngGalladeBladesGallade2.png

Why does this article exist? Porky isn't related to the Mario franchise in any way, and I don't recall any Mario characters fighting him in the Subspace Emissary, so should we delete this? Anyone can fight him in The Great Maze or Boss Battles mode, and there would be a conspicuous gap in Smash Bros. boss coverage. LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:29, January 19, 2020 (EST)
We agreed to keep boss articles during our lessening of Smash Bros. coverage, so here he is. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 14:00, January 19, 2020 (EST)
