European releases[edit]

Why is this game categorized as an America-only game? The PC version had a French release and was translated to German and thus had probably a German release as well. Jdtendo(T|C) 01:05, July 22, 2024 (EDT)

I removed the category. Jdtendo(T|C) 08:08, July 23, 2024 (EDT)

Release dates[edit]

Despite this page citing a source that states this game had a MS-DOS release in January 1993, and a Mac release in June 1994. However, it seems on this poster that it states that this game saw a MS-DOS release on an unspecified date in 1992, and a Macintosh release in October 1993. Is there any other information further proving one of those releases dates to be the correct one for either? This is not a poster nor an ad, this is a page scan from a magazine (VideoGames & Computer Entertainment); it is from a "Video Game Previews" section, which means that it was written by the magasine's staff, not from the game makers. I think that the VG&CE editor based their 1992 release guess on the copyright year on the game's back cover. If we suppose that the game was released in January 1993 as suggested by the UPI article, it would make sense that the game was conceived in 1992 (whence the copyright date) before releasing in early 1993. Wikipedia also cites an article from Boston Herald published in January 3, 1993: "Computer Games 'Mario is Missing' finds educational niche", but I could not find a copy of it. But it is true that it would be nice to have more precise sources that would pinpoint the exact release date. Jdtendo(T|C) 03:52, September 26, 2024 (EDT)

Split Mario is Missing! CD-ROM Deluxe[edit]

Brown Block This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit this section or its subsections. If you wish to discuss the article, please do so in a new section below the proposal.

Split 6-0
Per my reasoning on the other proposals. While I understand that audio and visual differences are not usually enough for something to be split, this version of the game adds live-action footage and clips for most of the landmarks, in addition to replacing some of the NPCs with various Super Mario characters, adding voice acting, and adding loading screens, hence why I believe this game should be split. It also explicitly refers to itself as a deluxe version of the original, in the same manner that Donkey Kong Country Returns HD refers to itself as an HD version of the original game. As opposed to other re-releases around this time, i.e. Donkey Kong on the Atari 2600, this re-release adds a substantial amount of content.

Don't split is Missing! CD-ROM Deluxe[edit]

Comments are Missing! CD-ROM Deluxe[edit]

We're a tad skeptical, given Mario Teaches Typing's Floppy/DOS and CD-ROM/Windows releases are merged together despite probably having as much different, if not more, than this. We wouldn't complain if both of these were split, mind you, but doing only one feels questionable. Abstaining for now. @Camwoodstock I agree that those should be split. I was planning to make a proposal to split those as well, though my proposal count is currently at five, so I am unable to do so at the moment. Nelsonic (talk) 13:31, May 22, 2025 (EDT)
Fair enough. Camwoodstock-sigicon.png~Camwoodstock ( talk contribs ) Camwoodstock-sigicon2.png 14:57, May 22, 2025 (EDT)
