What it says on the tin. These suspiciously coin-like objects only appear in Mario Kart 8 (slash Deluxe) as reskins of proper Coins, and have no distinct function in the Super Mario franchise beyond that. What distinguishes these from the Yoshi-themed coins on Yoshi's Island? They have distinct designs just like Bells and Cash.
This merger does not apply to Rupees, as those have had non-Mario Kart 8 appearances distinct from Coins. And no, I'm not going to suggest splitting the Yoshi coins too. If the wiki did that, then you may as well split Wario Land coins... and Super Mario 64 coins... and regional coins...

Oppose: Bells and Cash are distinct[edit]
- Salmancer (talk) Bells and Cash have a quality Coins do not, namely not being part of the Super Mario franchise. The proposal on generic subjects getting articles separate from Mario subjects based on them basically says we want our Super Mario articles to be Super Mario centric. This merge would loosen our Coin article. If we're going to separate snowmen based on design, having a screenshot of a Bell in Gallery:Coin or inline with the article text of Coin would defeat the point of distinguishing designs.
- Hewer (talk) Per the proposal that split them. This is the same case as Deku Baba, Keese, and Snowboy (and Raving Piranha Plant too, for that matter), they're distinct subjects that share a function. The difference with the Yoshi coins is that they are officially identified as coins rather than a distinct currency. I'm also not really seeing why Rupee should be excluded, since the only reason that article is split is also the Mario Kart appearance, I doubt that its other appearances would be article worthy on their own.

- Tails777 (talk) Per Hewer. Bells, Cash and Rupees all share the exact same function in the context of Mario Kart 8/Mario Kart 8 Deluxe; to be crossover replacements for the Coin. Just because Bells and Cash happen to be round, gold coins, doesn't mean they should be treated differently from the other form of currency that happens to take the form of a small green gem.
