Name
Someone claiming to be an employee of Argonaut claims the prototype was called "Yoshi Racing" (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=227362239&postcount=351), but it's just a forum post without nothing solid. *shrug* NeoGaf was known as an hub for developer and industry insiders before its bad reputation caught up to it, and the guy's messages mention being an employee of Argonanut as early as 2008.
Also for what it's worth, a (now-ded) Croc Fansite maintaned by a guy who claimed to have visited Argonaut's office also mentions Argonaut's Yoshi pitch was a racing game (in 2005 - wayyyy before the Eurogamer article was published), though he doesn't mention the "Yoshi Racing" name verbatim. --Glowsquid (talk) 21:40, 31 December 2016 (EST)
In my opinion the name should be changed. I think it's absurd to trust a simple post on NeoGAF. Even the page is ambiguous, was it to be a 3D platformer or a racing game? Of course there would also be the statement of a user on a Croc site, but it is a fan site. And, even if we do not know what changes the prototype has undergone, it seems to me quite bizarre that a racing game has been used as the basis of a 3D platformer.--Alternis (talk) 08:43, 18 February 2019 (EST)
- I agree with the notion a NeoGaf post isn't enough to move the page title (I merely left it as an aside on the page until someone moved it without discussion), though I think it merits a mention. Something tells me that there are no Yoshi Racing images other than a leak. Perhaps there's be a possibility to merge it into List of unreleased media § Low-information media and rejected pitches.

- How is that relevant at all? If it gets renamed then that article will be moved and probably take naming priority due to being from a released game, if the article about the cancelled game is still extant then it can get "(game)" or "(cancelled game)" or something as an identifier, and if it's not then an about template can link to the list of unreleased media. - If the proposal were to pass and this gets merged, the article wouldn't exist beyond maybe a redirect anyways--of course, if it comes to it, you could also just stick a "This article is about the event in Super Mario RPG, if you want the cancelled game go here." at the top. ~Camwoodstock (talk) 17:56, October 25, 2023 (EDT)
