Two more Screenshots

Gamekult.com offers two more screenshots: [1]. I would upload them, but I ask before because they have Gamekult's watermarks: Where is the screenshot uploaded by Paper Jorge from, since this one doesn't have a watermark? --Grandy02 10:54, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Go ahead and upload them, and then if Jorge has versions of those screenshots without a watermark, he can easily update the image file. On a side note: I see that there will be 2-D sidescroller moments. Playing as Bowser and the Bros. may be connected as the babies and adults were in the previous title (the actions of one on one screen and the actions of the other on the other screen). Finally, the map system seems to be updated, and the fat Toads look like they are normal Toads who have contracted an illness and are thus in the hospital. All speculation at this point, so I won't put it in the article. Stumpers! 14:45, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
Speculative nature is allowed, says the template. In this case (unlike e.g. guessing Brawl characters was), the speculation has a good basis by comparing the screenshots to Partners in Time. I would add that and state it's speculation. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 15:12, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
Here's some watermarkless versions: [2] CrossEyed7 15:29, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Trailer is here! Should answer some questions. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 16:42, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

From what I can see in the screenshots, it appears they are using a slightly different style of sprites in the game. Should this be noted in the article, or not until we have proof? — Stooben Rooben 16:56, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Info

So far I researched the game and found info. In the Video on part showed Bowser eating a Magic shroom that gave him the ability to suck air. (kinda of Kirby.) Thus this cause him to go to Peach's castle Punch a counter and fight Mario. After there little fight Bowser suck up Peach, Mario, Luigi and Toadworth (I think). Another part shows Ship (Maybe U.F.O know if there are Shroob.) attacking Bowser's Castle. Also featured in the video showed a Green Toad (Look much like the one in Super Mario RPG Lengend of the Seven Star that watch over Peach.) affacted by some illness. There also so a part when the player is in Bowser's body. (And i not sure but I think they're can control Bowser and Mario and Luigi at that point. SO far the plot is unknow and as well as the villan and that illness that affected the Toads. Lastly I heard rumor that the game works only on the Nintendo DSi but it hasn't been reveal yet so this it could false and maybe the game can work on an old DS. Well so that all I got. (Sorry for the messy paragraphy.)  Grapes   Oh and Toadette was spotted in the game unless it was Toadiko or some thing like that. And Fawful is rumored too.

I watched the video, and it does appear that way. It would be a huge change in the RPG scene for Mario if somehow the main antagonist created a virus that affected the Mushroom Kingdom. (Perhaps a more serious RPG than usual?) Also, I don't think that the game will work only for the DSi. GameStop (and Cobold) told me that it's the same thing as the DS Lite, only without the GBA slot. — Stooben Rooben 17:12, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Look at the top of the Touch Screen and you will see walls who look like Shroobs.  rend (talk) (edits)

Sorry 'bout (I watch the video too.) Hmmm a main new (or old) antagonist started a illness. (Ooooppps I guess my info is waaayyyy off oh well.) I get wonder why Mario or Peach or even Luigi didn't get affected. (Maybe cause there humans.) Yeah about the Dsi it just like the DS lite but it contains added new features.  Grapes

Some characters I saw in the video:

  • Toadbert
  • Toadsworth
  • Toadiko
  • Kemek (or a normal Magikoopa)
  • A yellow Bob-omb

This game works also on the normal DS. It looks like the game uses again a overworld unlike M&L2.  rend (talk) (edits)

Oooopsss I thought I saw Toadette. So they return. (But there rolles are unknow.) Do you know if Fawful is in the game?  Grapes

I don't know if it realy is Toadiko, but I think it's more likely for her to appear in this game than Toadette. Toadiko appeart in M&L2 so she might return. I remember Fawfull said in M&L2 he will do something in the future. Some enemies look like him. It's likely he's in the game.

  • Also Bros. Items return, not Bros. attacks from M&L1
  • There is also a meter in the under-right of the touchscreen (in Battle). You can do somthing when it is full, but it's unknown what.  rend (talk) (edits)
) Thanks. Yeah I saw that too. It maybe used for a power boost or special attack. So far these Bros item have been sinc in the video. Green Shell and the Fire Flower. Bowser has his own but the only one shown is the one when he throw goomba up in the air then they fall and hit the enemies.:) Thanks.  Grapes

Notice the additional command in the battle mode. There's Jumping, Hammer, Item, Bros. Item, Running away and a sixth command in the back, which looks similar to the meter on the bottom of the touchscreen. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 17:43, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Those action command block look like the one in M&L SS.  Grapes

I thought they look totally different to what we've seen before. I might be wrong, it's been a long time since I played the game. But Mario & Luigi's sprites are definitely new. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 17:53, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

The sixth command in the back can be used if the meter in the under-right of the touchscreen is full. I think it's a (strong) move done by both Mario and Luigi.  rend (talk) (edits)

Perhaps a quicker way to access the Bros. moves too? — Stooben Rooben 18:07, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Or maybe it an Exp thing. (Uhh nevermind.) Or maybe a the return of the bros moves.  Grapes

Mario has a Mushroom on that bar, and Luigi has either a Freezy or a Lakitu cloud...maybe elements return in this game? Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 19:54, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Now when using a fire flower, Mario and Luigi gain their Fire Flower Suits. (the white overalls and hat etc....) Now that was a NEEDED upgrade.  MCHammerBro.  19:55, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Ehhh how is a mushroom an elements?  Grapes

Revision: Mario has a Mushroom Bros. Move. I'm definitely leaning towards a charged-up Bros. Move system now instead of the Bros. Points. Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 20:17, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Moved to the correct name. Here's the source: [3]. BLOC PARTIER.

I watched this trailer on YouTube, (sorry, no link, just search Mario and Luigi RPG 3) and in one part I see what looks like Shroobs attacking a castle. --Nerdy Guy

Also, note that the icons of the Bros. Move meter fit prefectly into eachother.  Freekhenstra

File:GreenandRedRPG3.png I think this is Fawful. (He's short right?)  Grapes

Fawful has a bigger head, and no beard or hair. This image is by far not clear enough to say it's him. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 09:47, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

who ever said it woz prince peasley must be 'tarded....
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lu-igi board (talk).

Hey that rude!! Please keep your rude comments to yourself. Ambidextria

Actually, I zoomed in really close, and although it was really blurry, it looked more like prince peasely. Fawful has sort of a hooded robe, while the person seems to have a cape. However, the thing he is riding looks like something fawful would ride. So, either Peasley got a new vehicle, or Fawful changed his hood. Maybe it is not either of them?. Luigfreak   Mai talk

That mushroom and moon icon power has been revealed!! See here. when those two icons combined, Luigi startes to eat a whole bunch of sweets and get fat. Then Mario throws Luigi.  Grapes

UFOs

I see the trailer again in the best quality: the UFOs are green UFOs with yellow spots. I think Fawful is bakc, HAVING MORE FURYYYY that before. Koopalmier

Yup that is Fawful, but what is that star thing? Ninja Toad5

Koopalmier, are you pretending to be me? Anyway, I don't think it's just Fawful, maybe it's Fawful with the Shroobs helping him. --Nerdy Guy

Uhh the Shroobs lost basically all there power after Mario and Luigi delt with them (No more Princess Shroob or Elder Princess Shroob). Its more likely that Fawful has made a new army of his own deadly creatures. The UFOs are probably his creations (He is a genius with his inventions eg: Headgear and his mysterious Machine in his final battle). But it is possible that Fawful and the Shroobs have teamed up togeher to get their revenge. Don't rule any ideas out till the games release ;) Storm Yoshi

Hmm I thought all the Shroobs where killed by E Gadd's machine which had chemical that are like baby's tears and that there weakness.  Grapes

There are a goomba and a koopa and a Hammerbro popping out of the UFO's Ninja Toad5

No, the Koopas are popping out of the castle, not of the UFOs. Koopalmier 18:31, 30 December 2008 (EST)

(I have the Japan release of the game) Fawful is the villain and almost all of his underlings are spin offs of usual enemies with 'Fawful' in them. There are fawful version goombas and koopas (some wear masks and stuff). And yes. He created UFO's... possibly based on the Shroob design - Raven

Japanese Text

Maybe it would reveal something if we knew the meaning of these text boxes/bubbles?
japanesevc2.png
The first one reads "Kinoko Town", the Japanese name of Toad Town. But what about the other texts? Could someone translate it? --Grandy02 08:26, 4 October 2008 (EDT)

I'll just translate it here as a response to your comment on my talk page, if you don't mind. First of all, the text at the top left does say "Kinoko Town". The blue box reads "The Lucky Mushroom? has been earned!" which is probably implying that the mushroom isn't actually the lucky mushroom, seeing from its color. Bowser is screaming "NUGAHHHHH" which really doesn't mean anything. The huge taod on the right half is saying "Mr. Mario... Please help us." I hope that helped somewhat. Marcelagus (TCE)
There's also some text on the bottom screen that says "キノピオひろば" at around 00:24 on the trailer. I think that means something along the lines of "Toad Plaza," but it's pretty blurry, so I don't know. It might be "キノピオひろは" or "キノピオひろぱ," too. Those last two don't mean anything that I know of. - 2257(Talk) 11:14, 4 October 2008 (EDT)
Hmm, the three of those say "Kinopio Hiruba", "Kinopio Hiruha (or maybe Hiruwa)", and "Kinopio Hirupa". Man, I wish I could translate more than a handful of Japanese words. SJ derp :P

Here's rough translations of what those mean:

  • キノピオひろば = List of Mario series characters corner
  • キノピオひろは = List of Mario series characters to fathom
  • キノピオひろぱ = List of Mario series characters sect mindedness

It's odd...to me, those three character groups look exactly the same. =| — Stooben Rooben 12:10, 4 October 2008 (EDT)

To Kodomo no Jikan:This might help you. It has a confusing interface, but once you get used to it, it helps a lot. Assuming you can actually figure out where the word boundaries are.

To Stooben Rooben: Your translations seem really bizarre to me. What is "List of Mario series characters" about? Also, the difference between the three is in the last character. The top and bottom ones have the diacritics "dakuten" and "handakuten" respectively, which alter the pronunciation and meaning.

kinopiohiroba.png
This is the actual text. As you can see, it's quite blurry. I'm fairly sure that the second-to-last character is really "ろ" not "る," though. On the other hand, it could be "う" XD. I would like the Japanese language a lot more if fewer of its characters were so similar looking to others. - 2257(Talk) 12:45, 4 October 2008 (EDT)

Yeah, after looking at it, it looks more like the "ro" character than the "ru" character. SJ derp :P

Alright, I asked a friend of mine from Japan what "ひろば" means, and she says it means field. So it's "Toad Fields," which really fits pretty well. - 2257(Talk) 20:43, 6 October 2008 (EDT)

Kinopio Fields? It might be an area out side of Toad Town then.  Grapes

kinopiohiroba2.png
Minutely less blurry. I'm fairly sure it's "ひろば" at this point. Also, here's an image of the source:
- 2257(Talk) 22:50, 6 October 2008 (EDT)

It says "KINOPIO HIROBA". Trust me. It means something like "Toad Plaza" or "Toad Place". I speak and write Japanese fluently, and yes, it would make no sense if it was Hiropa or Hirupa or Hiruba or ARRIVA! (jklol). Marcelagus (TCE)

Shroob Wall

This little pictiure is from the Map of Toad Town. Those walls look like Shroobs.  rend (talk) (edits)

The look like shadows to me.  Grapes

If you look closely they're distinctly Star-shaped. Ztars, perhaps? Phoenix Rider

Hmm perhaps Ztar doors?  Grapes

Possible, but a Ztar has white eyes and this wall dark red.  rend (talk) (edits)

I have a crazy idea..... it probrably isnt right. Perhaps this area is really far into the game. Fawful may appear as the main villain in the beginning, but later on, their may be a bigger evil? ( think super paper mario) after theese gates dissapear, you can go on tho the final area. Just a thought. Luigifreak

I agree maybe there is an even bigger villain seeing as how partners in time ended with princess shroob then elder princess shroob then shrowser maybe this one is the same --Count b 19:44, 6 February 2009 (EST)Count b

Beta

You know, we might be looking at a beta vesion of the game, because the map might end up on the top screen and Luigi's sprites seem like they will be changed. So prepare to change the article dramaticly. --Nerdy Guy

I think the map is on the touch screen for a reason. Maybe you can now use your stylus to scroll around the map. And what's wrong with Luigi's sprites, they look good if you ask me. But we yet don't know how it will look like in the future, so we will keep the article in the way it is now until more information comes.  rend (talk) (edits)

Chancellor?

The green Toad in the trailer looks A LOT like the Chancellor from SMRPG. Do you think it could be him? SJ derp :P

I wouldn't be surprised. He's a recurring character in the RPG series. Stumpers! 14:29, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
I knew I wasn't the only one whom notice that. Anyway doesn't the Chancellor has a robe with a golden line. He looks alot like him but younger. Unless that is him but we need more sources. (To find who that Green Toad really is :0)  Grapes
I wasn't about to put that in the article. ;) Stumpers! 11:17, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
I know. :D (But if some No0bie reads this and added it to the article then thats bad.)  Grapes

Koopalings

Will the koopalings be in the game?
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fannerw (talk).

I dunno. Lets wait till we got more sources. Super-Yoshi Talk? C???

I doubt it for afew reasons. 1.They are probaly using Bowser Jr. now since baby Bowser and the Koopalings apeared in ast Mario an Luigi games. 2.They are rare characters anymore,so well chance is againt them.

Do you think...

Being that the Chancellor is appearing, do any of you think that there will be partners that help out Mario and Luigi? I'm putting my money on a rogue Dry Bones... 30.pngR.O.B. 128  How do I shot web?

Do you mean partners like Kylie Koopa or like Koops? Stumpers! 16:32, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
I meant ones like Kooper and the Yoshi Kid. I'm thinking that they will appear. ☆R.O.B 128♂ 16:35, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
Those kind of partners haven't yet appeared in the Mario & Luigi series, so I don't think it's likely. Stumpers! 16:45, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
Being that as it may, can you tell me how Kylie is a patner? She never helped me out *folds arms* ☆R.O.B 128♂ 16:52, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
She gives ya scoop on the Sandy looking area. (I forgot the name. Plus it hasn't been comfired that the Green Toad is the Chancellor 'cause it could be false or not.)  Grapes
Toadsworth has replaced the Chancellor/Minister a long time ago. He's even called the chancellor himself. Just because this Toad has the same color scheme as the previous chancellor, that doesn't mean by far that they are the same person. There's a very slim chance this is the SMRPG chancellor. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 07:41, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
Thanks, Cobld, Princess and Arend. I appreciate it. :) ☆R.O.B 128♂ 16:39, 16 October 2008 (EDT)

WAITWAIT..

The Nintendo DS and the Nintendo DSi have 2 different screen sizes, but the game can be seen being played on both handhelds... Could it be that the game was changed from the Nintendo DS to the Nintendo DSi similar to its prequel with the Game Boy Advance to the Nintendo DS?~Μαριοθανικαλ 11:49, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

The DSi is just the new version of the Ds Lite.  Grapes

Nonooooo, well yes BUT, they have slight changes
  • 12% thinner than DS Lite
  • Screens are 3.25 inches, an increase of .25 from DS Lite
  • 0.3-megapizel camera inside the system with a maximum resolution of 640x480
  • 3-megapixel camera on the back of the system
  • Game Boy Advance slot has been removed
  • SD card slot added to transfer photos and music between DSi, Wii and PC
  • Music playback for AAC music files
  • Enhanced speakers and audio
  • DSi online store from which DSi applications can be bought using Nintendo Points
  • Free-to-download Opera internet browser available at launch
  • Power button relocated to below D-Pad
  • Stylus relocated to below SD card slot
  • New user interface similar to that of Wii
  • Integrated Photo Channel and music playback
  • Applications from the DSi store will be region-locked

~Μαριοθανικαλ 12:10, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

I know :P. (It like a mini Wii.)  Grapes

Yea, but the screen sizes is different and so are the number if pixels. ~Μαριοθανικαλ 12:15, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

The launch trailer of the game showed the game being played on a DS lite. The montage of upcoming DS games showed it on a DSi, using the full screen size. The game is simply enhanced for a DSi, but compatible to the DS lite (so far). - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:24, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

I think it work on a regular DS. When the Ds lite came out it was still working with old DS games like Super Mario 64 DS. Princess Grapes Butterfly
I know that but, it might be that if the game is changed to be for the DSi, it might not be compatible with the DS, but that has not happened yet~Μαριοθανικαλ 12:41, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

I don't think thats the case, isn't the DSi just a fancy DS lite (of sorts) meaning it would still play all the old (and new) DS games - Kamicciolo

Well the DSi can probably play all the old games of course. But the Nintendo DS lite might not be able to play some new DSi games, (some games might need the larger screen of the DSi, others might need the camera, etc.)~Μαριοθανικαλ 13:13, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
I can't see the screen size making such a big difference, but the camera would be the decider (unless they released an addon for the DS lite) - Kamicciolo
I can see the screen size making a big difference~Μαριοθανικαλ 13:44, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
But wouldn't it be similar to widescreen, where TVs that don't have it just show what it can, and leave the side cut off? - Kamicciolo

So far we've seen the game being played on both a DS lite and a DSi, so there's little point in arguing here what other games might have. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 16:25, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

Maybe Nintendo will release a version for the DS and one for the DSi. Like they did for sometimes for the GameBoy and Game Boy Color. -- Nerdy Guy  Nice Theorie, huh

There won't be an apart version for DS and DSi. There are no DS Lite-only games, even though it has a smaller screen. I don't get why everyone thinks there's going to be two versions, why would there be? The only DSi-only games are going to be DSiWare games. Also, the camera likely won't HAVE to be used in all new DS games, althrough it may be possible in some games. There's NO need to worry.  Freekhenstra

Yea, they won't just make you go buy another DS just for a game, or release another version. The DSi probably just has a better resolution from the .25 increase maybe. Super-Yoshi Talk? C???

this isn't the place to say, but guitar hero won't be playable on the DSi, as the 'controller' needs a gba slot (!!!) Lu-igi board 18:39, 27 October 2008 (EDT)

The name of the game

It was first Mario & Luigi RPG 3!!! (please note the 3 "!"). Then, in the trailer of the game, it's Mario & Luigi 3. I think the arrticles's name must be changed to a more recent name. Koopalmier 10:23, 27 October 2008 (EDT)

Metakoro

I have a question. Is Metakoro the offical name for the sickness? Or is it the Japanese name for the sickness.  Grapes

It's the Japanese name, メタコロ病 Metakoro Yamai. Incidentally, "koro" can mean "roller," according to my dictionary. - 2257(Talk) 16:11, 15 November 2008 (EST)

well "Meta" means metal, but Metalroller disease doesent make much sense.--Luigi456

I believe that it's imported from the Greek, probably through English. One of the meanings of "meta" in Greek is self, so... It could also be from "metabolism," what with the health focus of the game. - 2257(Talk) 20:40, 2 April 2009 (EDT)

More Screenshots

Does anybody know where we can can find more screenshots? I'm having trouble, because Google Image Search keeps finding anything with the words "Mario", "3", and "RPG". That means alot of screen shots of SMRPG, RPG hacks, and avitar pictures from fourom topic on the game. I even typed in "Mario & Luigi RPG 3 Screenshots", that didn't work. -- Nerdy Guy (Does anyboby have any ideas?)

Nintendo only release three of four screen shots so far. Yup its three Ambidextria

Then how come the article says the following:

[...]In a recently released photo, Mario and Luigi can be seen escaping through Bowser's rectum[...]

Then again, the photo does sound fake, because rectrum means butt-hole, and I don't think Nintendo would show that. (A least not until the game was released.) Also, you said there was 3 screen shots, but we have at least 5. -- Nerdy Guy (Is the screen shot fake?)

But that Lucky Mushroom is also officially named, though, it shouldn't have been deleted. --Grandy02 04:41, 2 December 2008 (EST)

I'll restore it. But the image needs to be reupload.  Grapes

If you haven't noticed, Bone Thwomp was deleted... =(   Guy Tim

Because we don't know its official name. --Grandy02 11:23, 3 December 2008 (EST)

Ya, I 'now.   Guy Tim

But, the Saucer isn't deleted, thought it's title is conjectural. There is a conjeture template on it. Never heard of that template? It's a template that gives the info that the name of the aticle is conjectural, or, unofficial. IF the name is known, we can remove that template and move the conjectural name to the official name. So I can hardly see that the Bone Thwomp article is deleted because of the conjectural name. Actually, it can be deleted because of lack of information, or fan-based (which is obviously NOT). So, It's stupid to think the Bone Thwomp article is deleted just because of the unofficial name. And, there are also other articles that was about earlier fragments of upcoming games.  rend (talk) (edits)
Not just because we don't know the official name, but also because it's from an upcoming game, I should have mentioned that. We know the official name of the Metakoro Disease, but not of the Thwomp-like creature. There was proposal for this, see here. It was made because of all those new articles on enemies and planets with unofficial names that were created before Super Mario Galaxy was released. The same would happen for this game without that decision. --Grandy02 13:45, 14 December 2008 (EST)

New Pictures and Info

Here are scans of two pages from the Famitsu magazine with lots of new info:
first page | second page
It shows the game's Japanese logo (with a silhouette of Bowser's head!), Bowser's artwork, many screenshots and also a lot of textual information - in Japanese, of course. Could anyone translate? --Grandy02 08:00, 12 December 2008 (EST)

NEED MOAR SPOILERS. So, the Japanese name is confirmed, we see the 3 playabels characters at the logo (like in the two precedent games), moar images and an artwork. I love spoilers, so this made my week-end. Thanks. We also see that the spin jump is back and that the action commands need the stylus (like in Sonic Chronicles: the Dark Bortherhood)Koopalmier 14:06, 12 December 2008 (EST)

マリオ&ルイージ犬が一緒に仕事を!なぜ? = Means Mario & Luigi working with Bowser! Why? (That's what the writing say above the Japanese Mario & Luigi RPG 3 logo.)  Grapes

Someone traducted this: the first "chapter" of the game will be inside Bowser, the Mario bros. will be playable only when Bowser drinks water (when they are inside his body, obviousely), the Bros. Attacks are back, the part in Bowser's body is only in 2D gameplay and they must resolve some things to find the exit (like Yoob in the precedent game, but Bowser's body contains more places). Koopalmier 06:18, 14 December 2008 (EST)

Apparently, the attack where Bowser throws the Goombas is Bokosuka Goomba, whatever that means. And that's... really all I got from it. ;>_> - 2257(Talk) 00:17, 18 December 2008 (EST)

Well, I was going to translate this, but after doing the headings and a few random lines, I ran into the issue that the scan is too low resolution, and I couldn't read half the Kanji. Joy. Anyway, while searching for a higher resolution version I found a Chinese translation (Which is in a higher resolution, of course.) No idea whether it's simplified or traditional characters or what, but there it is if you speak Chinese. I don't suppose anyone here gets Famitsu and has a high resolution scanner? - 2257(Talk) 17:31, 19 December 2008 (EST)

Shroobs

It is possible that the shroobs could return because of 3 reasons:

1. Elder princess shroob was not destroyed by baby tears, so she could still be barely alive (like dimento in SPM)

2. Some shroobs could still be living on the shroob planet. That is all. Luigfreak   Mai talk

3. Junior Shrooboid might have escaped while Prof. E. Gadd was still studying and produced more shroobsUser:Supermariosuperefan/sig

Yeah, may be possible that some shroobs could still be living on the Shroob Planet, but with a new King/Queen. Elder Princess Shroob wasn't destroyed by baby tears, Mario & Luigi destroyed her soul after defeating Shrowser.   Guy Tim

Yeah you are right Guy Tim and Luigifreak their could be a few shroobs living on shroob plant.  Mario5x (talk)

If some shroobs had survived and now remain in their planet, it's unlikely that they can make a reappearance as the main antagonists of this game again... ¢oincollctor rsitem209.png The only possibility is that these characters have a reference in this game; for example, A character that talks about mushroom-like aliens once invaded the kingdom, but reminds hardly...

Hey my theory is that maybe the shroobs left on the shroob planet are under fawful's lead and are now green and white or something. the ufo mentioned above could have a new shroob in it, and the shroobs would all wear swirly glasses. YourBuddyBill 17:59, 7 January 2009 (EST)

European release

Is there a European release date yet? Fawful is a waffle! 14:09, 7 January 2009 (EST)

Thanks. Mario & Luigi RPG 3 is a pirate goomba 18:05, 7 January 2009 (EST)

It's Fawful

IGN had an article where they stated Famitsu's latest news on the game. They explained some of the battle system controls which I didn't read yet. However, this caught my eye:

This third RPG adventure for gaming's most famous mushroom-eating plumbers kicks off with the residents of the Mushroom Kingdom gathering to discuss what to do about a disease that's spreading throughout the kingdom. Koopa, under the control of an even more villainous villain called Gerakowitz, shows up and sucks everyone into his belly.

I checked Fawful's article and in the Foreign Names section, he was listed as ゲラコビッツ Gerakobittsu. Considering that Japanese doesn't have a "v" sound and uses b instead, this can be written as "Gerakovitz". IGN maybe just misspelled the w, for me that's a confirmation. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 09:10, 15 January 2009 (EST)

Definitely confirms it. And if the name doesn't, this artwork with Fawful does. There are many more new pictures here (I know that Cobold already knows). --Grandy02 14:13, 15 January 2009 (EST)
I only saw the trailer, but not those images. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 16:31, 15 January 2009 (EST)
That artwork shows 2 new charcters that look like blocks and a Goomba wearing PJ's and other new charcters. Is there any info on them?  Nerdy Guy (Fawful is dresses like some sorta overlord)

Beta proof

Yes, normaly beta stuff is found after the game is relased, but I found something:

look at this, the article says that new info comferms that Bowser fights by having the player tip the DSi sideways and uses the stylus to atack, but this pic shows Bowser fighting with the DSi normal and no stlyus can be seen.

Nerdy Guy (I could be wrong though...)

Interesting. It could be beta elements. It could also simply be the regular fighting mode. After all, there are two different fighting modes for Bowser according to the IGN article. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 11:09, 15 January 2009 (EST)

They're obviously not PLAYING the game when they make things like that, they must have not put the stylus and stuff so that it's easier to see. >_> {{User:Uniju :D/sig}} 22:02, 15 January 2009 (EST)

But you wouldn't hold the DS in the style of a book for this screenshot. The IGN article says that you use it sideways in the Bowser-only battles. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 08:00, 16 January 2009 (EST)

I have 3 theories 'bout it:

1. Yeah, it could be beta elements.
2. It could be only a screenshot, to make things easier to see.
3. The player should be able to choice to battle either by the normal way or by the "book way".

  Guy Tim

It's not a single screenshot, it was in the original reveal trailer of the game. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:20, 16 January 2009 (EST)

Yeah, yeah. Correction: It could be only a trailer...   Guy Tim

Uh, bowser has two battle systems, one like mario and luigi's, and then the one where you hold the ds like a book. That's not a beta screenshot.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jonah (talk).

Jonah's spot on. For most battles you fight using the X button. Punch, sucking people up so mario and luigi can fight in gut and stuff. Later on in the game Mario and Luigi can exit Bowser whenever they want via a series of pipes found near bowsers neck. Toadbert...

The character we've been calling Toadbert... he introduces himself like this: 「ボク キノックルです!」 So his name's "Kinokkuru"... Is this Toadbert's Japanese name? If so, this pretty much confirms that that's who he is (Although I might be the only person who doubted that to start...) Sprites, Already?!

The people at the Spriters-Resource have somehow ripped alot of sprites out of the game already. This is very important and full of spoilers, since it shows many of the enemies. From looking at this, I can tell that many of the enimies are "Fawful-lized" versions of already existing Mario Series enimies.

Here's the link.

Nerdy Guy (My favorite is the Fawful Shy Guy)

It's cause they got the rom. We can use alot of these, withp crediting them of course, but are all the names official? Super-Yoshi Talk? C???
Curiously, some emulators are capable of traslating a game from a determinate language into another. A good example can be No$GBA or iDeaS. I play USA games roms, but the emulator changes the language of the whole game to spanish...

¢oincollctor rsitem209.png

Until an English language version of the title is released, the Japanese names are still the official names we'll be using. For example, The Great Mission to Save Princess Peach was never translated from Japanese officially, so the names we use for the subjects of the film are the Japanese names. Additionally, NoA and NoE have often neglected to directly translate names and make attempts to add puns and such, particularly in the Mario and Luigi series. For that reason, the names they have there may be different from the names that end up being used in our NTSC and PAL region games. Stumpers! 23:20, 24 February 2009 (EST)

Almost none of those are official, leave em out Caution! Your Buddy Bill was here! I was logged on aall night cause i forgot to log off...

The Sixth Option

Can someone translate it please? It would really help out alot. This is the mysterious sixth option from the battle menu, but I dunno what it does. All i know is that you can turn the wheel with L & R, but diffrent things pop up each time. Super-Yoshi Talk? C???

The name of the option is "badge replace," and it basically allows you to change Bros. Badges in the middle of a battle. However, it empties the meter in the process... The image you took is just a description of the current badge combo. Basically, it says you need to get an "excellent" rating on a move to charge the meter, and that once the meter is fully charged, you can recover 50% of each brother's total SP. The red side of the badge controls the effects, while the green side controls their degree, as well as how good you have to be to charge the meter. - 2257(Talk) 00:56, 26 February 2009 (EST)
Hey, could you get a picture of the green badge just above the one that's currently equipped in the picture? - 2257(Talk) 01:18, 26 February 2009 (EST)
No problem at all. Ill get it ASAP. Super-Yoshi Talk? C???
Here: Super-Yoshi Talk? C???
Hmm. That says "(Your attacks) Continue to be judged 'excellent.' Effect: All SP is recovered." (I think, it's a hard translation for me.) So maybe getting a score lower than excellent drains the meter? I dunno. - 2257(Talk) 02:09, 26 February 2009 (EST)

This badge will indeed drain the meter if you get lower than EXCELLENT (It only drains the side of Bro that made that action command, however). Luigi gets it when he passes level 40, becaming Rainbow-ranked (which by the way is a secret rank). What this badge does? Well, it will (depending on which badge Mario has): Restore all HP (with the Mushroom badge on Mario), Restore all SP (Shell badge on Mario), Raise the POW 4x (POW badge on Mario), Raise the EXP you get from this battle 2x and coins 1.5x (Coin Badge on Mario) -MARIOANDLUIGIRPG3VID (Skawo93)
2257: Nope. I took a week to try and kinda "hack" the game, and then some other stuff. Skawo93: Hm, interesting. This is valuable information, in furture articles, we can use this. Thanks. Super-Yoshi Talk? C???

The North American Title

I am very confused. Wikipedia stated that the name of Mario and Luigi RPG 3 is, Mario & Luigi & Bowser. Other sites say its Mario & Luigi: Fawful's Revenge. Is one of them the official name of the game?

Please sign your name. And um its best to wait untill the game is released. So far the titled you stated maybe be fanon made up by people.  Grapes

Those names came from a comment on Youtube. Someone was guessing what the North American title will be. It's the same deal with that one beach in the game being called "Cavity Coast", it's fake. SJ derp :P
