Capsule Spaces were spaces used in Mario Party 5. They could only be created by players throwing their Capsules on a Blue Space, or a Red Space. Whoever landed on spaces containing a Capsule activated it's effect, regardless of who placed it there to begin with. There were many types of Capsule Spaces:

  • For Movement: these were made by green Capsules including ones that made Mushroom Spaces. Otherwise, they simply took players to another part of the board.
  • For Coins: these were made by yellow Capsules that gave coins to players, but mostly took them away. These also include Bob-omb and the Koopa Bank.
  • For Capsules: these were made by red Capsules that were designed to take away, or shuffle around players' Capsules.
  • For Other Purposes: these were made by blue Capsules (or the purple Bowser Capsule to do all sorts of other things, like playing Chance Time, Duel with another player, call on Chain Chomp, or even change the location of the Star.
