The function of this page is to test an idea for better coverage of character alter-egos which are not largely enough to hold without having to scroll through dozens of pages. Currently, it is mainly using Mario alter-egos as the template. It does not include powerups, lookalikes, unnamed disguises, alternate outfits, or alternate names for the character in question. (Examples: Jumpman, The Great Gonzales, Big M, etc.)

This page needs improvement and is being worked on by Wandering Poplin. Specifically:

• For alter-egos which do not have their own articles, go into greater detail in their coverage.

Requested improvements must be clear, pertinent, and well-formed. Please refrain from adding bullet points such as "Add more information" or "Write the rest of the article".

	Dr. Mario	Dr. Mario (NES)	Main article: Dr. Mario Dr. Mario is the persona Mario assumes in the Dr. Mario series. Under this identity, Mario dons a white lab coat, white pants, a head mirror, and a stethoscope around his neck. Debuting in his eponymous game, Dr. Mario and his assistant Nurse Toadstool work at the Mushroom Kingdom Hospital, where he eliminates viruses and other diseases by using capsules, a premise that has been the standard for subsequent games starring him. Dr. Mario is a character separate from Mario in some media, such as the Super Smash Bros. series.
	Mr. Pipe	Yoshi's New Island	Main article: Mr. Pipe Mr. Pipe is a Warp Pipe character that appears in Yoshi's New Island, usually as a small Warp Pipe near the beginning of a level or a Checkpoint Ring. He aids a Yoshi and Baby Mario by giving them Flutter Wings, Golden Flutter Wings, and eggs if they lose a specific level. During boss fights, he assists them by throwing eggs or coins if a Yoshi has the maximum number of eggs, and he jumps away. At the end of the game, he is revealed to be adult Mario disguised as a Warp Pipe.
	In Search of Lost Brother / A Plumber's Lament	Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars	Not to be confused with Gold Mario. "In Search of Lost Brother" (originally called "A Plumber's Lament") is a disguise assumed by Mario in order to sneak into Nimbus Castle, while Valentia has usurped the throne.

	Aface and his gang	The Unzappables	Aface is gangster disguise used by Mario in order to sneak sneak into the Koopa Club and retrieve the money stolen by Al Koopone. Earlier in development, they were known as "Pizza Face's gang".
	Captain Kidder	Pirates of Koopa	Captain Kidder disguise used by Mario in order to infiltrate Pirate's Port and save Princess Toadstool from being auctioned by Blackbeard Koopa. After Luigi offers his bid of a billion coins for Princess Toadstool, two Koopa Troopas lift him and Mario up above their heads and begin to carry them towards Blackbeard Koopa in excitement, but are dropped after Koopa is knocked from his balcony, which causes them to lose their pirate disguises and are instantly recognized by the bandits.
	The Provolone Ranger	The Provolone Ranger	The Provolone Ranger is a persona taken up by Mario in the episode of the same name.
	Zero	The Mark of Zero	Zero is an identity assumed by Mario after the real one is kidnapped be El Koopitan, and the citizens of El Desert Land became too afraid to resist him.
	Marzan	Mario of the Apes	Marzan is the identity assumed by an amnesiac Mario after crash landing from King Koopa's out-of-control Albatross, and subsequent "adoption" by June and Ward. Initially, he appears identical to normal Mario, although after a battle against a line, his clothes become torn, somewhat resembling the appearance of Tarzan.

	Madzilla's Mom	Dadzilla	Main article: Madzilla's Mom Madzilla's Mom, or Momma Madzilla is a mechanical disguise Mario created out various old monsters made to stop Madzilla and the Koopalings from taking over Hollywood. She is made out of a monster head, a dragon body and right leg, King Kong's right arm, Ebirah's left arm, a giant's left leg, and Anguirus's tail. She also has the power to exhale steam from her nostrils.

	Santa Claus	The Night Before Cave Christmas (As Mario)	Main article: Santa Claus Santa Claus is a guise taken by Mario to emulate the spirit of Christmas for the Cave People, setting out to deliver toys to all of the cave children in a Winged Yoshi-drawn sleigh. Mario has also dressed as Santa Claus in other media, such as Warios Weihnachtsmärchen, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario: Wario no Mori, and various pieces of promotional art.

	Otōsan Yoshi	Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 6	Otōsan Yoshi is Mario disguised Yoshi's father. This persona appears in a 4-koma in which Yoshi explains how he feels alone at times. To make him feel better, Mario and Peach dress up as his parents (the father as a Green Yoshi with Mario's cap and mustache, and the mother as a Pink Yoshi with her hair and crown out). Yoshi thanks them for their attempt to cheer him up, but asks them to remove their costumes.
