Backwards-compatible games

All Nintendo Switch Super Mario games are backwards-compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2, with improved loading times and performance. WarioWare: Move It! requires the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con (R) to play microgames that utilize the IR Motion Camera.[1]

Games with updates

Certain games and applications have received free updates, either being required to ensure full playability on Nintendo Switch 2 or allowing them to take advantage of the system's new features and/or superior hardware.[2] All Nintendo Classics applications (aside from SEGA Genesis - Nintendo Switch Online) have also received updates for Nintendo Switch 2. Hello, Mario! and Hello, Yoshi! also feature improvements on the hardware but do not require updates.
