The 'Shroom:Issue 198/Fun Stuff
Director's Notes
Greetings, beautiful 'Shroom readers! Welcome into this September edition of Fun Stuff! Autumn is once again in, uh... I suppose the term "full bloom" would be a bit disingenuous. Full swing? Yeah, that works. It really is swinging. We've been keeping ourselves busy in the Fun Stuff offices, though - especially because I'm getting the jump on Halloween this year! That's right, it's time to carve those pumpkins and pray they don't rot in the next forty-five days!
Though there isn't anything particularly new to report, I do have an exciting announcement: prolific Fun Stuff writer Shoey (talk) has broken the record for most Fun Stuff sections written by one user, with a current total of 122 sections under his belt! Congratulations, Shoey! Hopefully the coming years will see many more new sections to come! And also perhaps a raise in my evil allowance...
Issue 200 looms, and so too do my fall courses, so I should bid you adieu here. Please, continue forth with your comfiest fall fit, and enjoy our Fun Stuff offerings! Take care.
Section of the Month
Congratulations to FunkyK38 (talk) for her first place snag, and further kudos to Waluigi Time (talk) and Shoey (talk) for second and third respectively. Make sure to vote for your favorites this month! I promise it's fun!

Anagrams
Written by: BBQ Turtle (talk)
Well, everyone, it looks like we've hit Autumn- that time of year when all the holiday stuff arrives in the shops too early- wait, scratch that- that mostly happened in July and August around by me- and complaining about people who call it "fall". And on an unrelated note, this month's anagrams are Donkey Kong 64 themed! As someone who hasn't played the game, I'm not sure I have any sort of somewhat-witty comment to go with this one, so just enjoy them I guess. If you would like to avoid this sort of rambling in the future, you could always help me substitute it out for me thanking someone for suggesting a theme for the month- or even a Mario-themed anagram of your own! Just let me know on my talk page or in a PM to me on the forums, I don't bite and I'd love to hear from you! And now that we're done, with all of that, I'll let you solve, some monkey 'grams, huh!
How it works...
Basically, this puzzle consists of solving the anagrams. Each month has a specific theme, which will give you a clue about what sort of words or phrases the anagrams will be. I've also included the boxes that the anagrams will fit into, so you'll be able to tell how many words it will solve to be and how many letters will be in each word, which should give you a hand too. You'll also notice that within each set of boxes, one of the squares are yellow. As you solve each anagram, note down the letter which appears in the yellow squares, and if you can solve all of the anagrams, you'll also get a bonus anagram to solve from completing all of the others. I've included the letter configuration for this one at the bottom too, just to give you an extra helping hand. Best of luck!
1. PSYCHIC AS MOUNDS

3. CAVALRY SECTS

Word Search
Pikmin 4 is real I played it! 10 years and it's real! So to celebrate that, we're doing a word search about the mascot enemy of Pikmin, the Bulborbs. Words can be found vertically, horizontally, diagonally, and backwards. As always have fun and stay safe!
Crossword
Written by: MarioMorty (talk)
Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of Crosswords. This month we have a mini crossword, only having ten words so it shouldn't be too hard. Not much else to report, so I will have another fresh crossword for everyone next month!
Hiding Koopa
Written by: Waluigi Time (talk)
Hello there, 'Shroom readers! Temperatures are cooling down, the leaves are changing colors, and companies are cramming pumpkin spice into just about anything you can buy. Yep, sure is fall. Even the Koopas are getting in on the autumn vibes! Five of them are hidden in this cozy piece of artwork from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Can you find them all?
Thanks for playing! Did you find them all?
Where in the Marioverse is Carmen Sandiego?
Each issue, you will be given a case to solve and clues to use to help you find the solution! Use your Mario knowledge to crack the case!
You will begin each case at the scene of the crime, and you will be given three clues from passerby as to where the next hot spot is and what game it’s from. Using your knowledge of Mario games and the Super Mario Wiki, figure out where the crook is and go track them down! There are four locations each round: the crime scene (1) at the start, two locations (2 and 3) with clues, and the hideout for the crook of the month (4). Answers for locations will be given with the corresponding round, for example, the clues from the crime scene will lead you to location 2, and once you open the spoiler bubbles for location 2, you will be given the correct answer. You can open the clues for each location in any order you’d like, but be careful! You may encounter an incorrect clue that could throw you off the case!
Clues offered will give you a hint either about the next location or the game it’s in. Unlike a regular Carmen Sandiego game, you do not have to collect information about the crook you are tracking down.
Challenge round (optional):
-Find all locations and games correctly in two minutes or less
-Find all locations and games correctly without using the rest of the Wiki for help
“We have a request from a guest this time, gumshoe. Rayman, arriving for the latest DLC for Mario and Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, has reported that all of his weapons, power ups, and equipment has gone missing. Rayman is a beloved character and fans were excited to see him return for the thrid part of this DLC to team up with Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Peach. Without those tools, he can't continue the DLC, and it would be a major letdown to everyone who looks forward to playing the DLC pack. We had a theory that it was just that tricky Phantom at the mischief again, but it seems that it's actually a Rabbid who took everything. Your job is to track down that Rabbid, gumshoe, and get Rayman's stuff back!”

HIDEOUT ANSWER: Balloon Trip from WarioWare: Smooth Moves
“Excellent work today, gumshoe. We managed to catch up with the theiving Rabbid, who had gotten distracted by the fish and balloons, and found all of Rayman's gear in a bag. Crucially, we also found Carmen's calling card in teh bag as well. I didn't think that the Rabbids were smart enough to work with Carmen like this, but perhaps she promised them something that they wanted? Either way, we've recovered everything and returned it back to Rayman. He sent you a nice gift- a hoodie! We've left the box on your desk- but it is not official uniform, so be sure to take it home! Dismissed for now, gumshoe, we'll be in touch for your next assignment.”
Trivia
I don't really have anything witty to say this month so uh, did you know you should write for Issue 200? Oh you did know that? Well uh did you know?
- That Mario Teaches Typing was the first game where Mario was voiced by Charles Martinet?
- That in Diddy Kong Racing, Bubbler is the only character that doesn't appear in the ending?
- That Daniel F. Steck is the only person ever elected to the senate despite getting fewer votes than his opponent?
- That Mario was originally a carpenter?
- That despite looking like a middle aged man, Mario is only in his mid 20's?
- That in the SNES version of Super Mario World, the level Chocolate Secret only has one Dragon Coin, while the GBA version has five?
- That Mario the Juggler was the last original Game & Watch ever released?
- That Tatanga is the only boss from Super Mario Land 2:6 Golden Coins who doesn't appear in the Mario Vs. Wario comic?
