Satellaview Versions[edit]
Can anyone who is good at comparing versions of games help me out with comparing the two Satellaview versions of Mario Paint to the standard release? I've tried checking myself, but besides the apparent joypad support, the differences do not seem obvious - particularly bizarre considering the two Satellaview versions have different ROM headers. Fake or real?[edit]

- People often make fan-made music with Mario Paint. While it is indeed real, it's most likely to be fan-made.

Genre[edit]
The infobox states that this game's genre is "miscellaneous," but is that really a genre? Sure, the game doesn't fall under any category on the genre page, but I think stating the genre is miscellaneous is weird. You can't just go into a store and ask for a miscellaneous game. I think it should be removed. Kaptain

- Wikipedia labeled it as "art tool", Gamefaqs listed it under "Miscellaneous>Application" and from a Google search it was listed as "art game" and "non-game". You could probably call it "art game". Herobrine (talk) 07:03, May 17, 2025 (EDT)
- We feel like "software" would be adequate, frankly. To be honest, we feel like the "genre" parameter is one of those strange holdovers from the early days of the wiki, though...
