New Airing!Edit

I've now have noticed that DKC is now airing in Australia in the new program KidsCo. Just to tell. - LuigiMania (talk) 8:17, 14 December 2009 (Pacific Time Zone)

Great, thanks for the heads up! (Now I wish I lived in Australia...) - Walkazo 01:46, 15 December 2009 (EST)

I do live in Australia! It's not all that great. DKC was, like, the first thing that they aired. I've watched a fair amount of the episodes but I can't seem to see any plotline. Also, some episodes are aired 3 times and some not at all :( --TimTamChimchar 01:32, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Episode orderEdit

I've been having trouble finding the correct order of all the episodes, as every website I check has them in a slightly different order. Is there any reliable website with the episode guide for the original North American releases or something? Fawfulfury65

About voice actorsEdit

I've read nearly EVERYWHERE that in season 2, Frank Welker provided Krusha's voice. But the in-show credits mention nothing of that at all. I was just wondering if it is really Welker who did the voice, and if it wasn't him, then who did? Krusha's voice in season 2 does sound a bit different from the first season. Japanese dubEdit

This series was aired in Japan as well, and there are videos that prove it.--181.160.107.115 18:56, 14 July 2013 (EDT)

Season quantityEdit

Even though it's commonly purported on the internet that there's only two seasons of the show the truth is there are three seasons. The only official website for information on the show is Nelvana and they clearly state that there's three seasons:

http://www.nelvana.com/show/188/donkey-kong-country

To figure out how they are divided I went to archive.org and found the older version of their DKC page where it is clear that seasons 1 and 2 make up 26 episodes with each season containing 13.

https://web.archive.org/web/20060328013320/http://www.nelvana.com/shows/episodes_template.asp?sid=16

They're referred to as "cycles" here, but I think it's safe to assume that it's the same thing.

Deciding how many seasonsEdit

This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit this section or its subsections. If you wish to discuss the article, please do so in a new section below the proposal.

3 seasons 0-5
There's some conflicting information on how many seasons the DKC cartoon has. As shown above, Nelvana considers it to have three seasons (or "cycles") of 13x13x14 (the first link is ded but their 2021 PDF catalogue retains the 3-seasons scheme.). That's also the numbering scheme used on Tubi and Apple TV. However most database and the show's DVD releases use a 2-season scheme where the 26 Medialab-produced episodes make up the first season and the 14 Hong Guang-produced episodes the 2nd. Every French sources also seem to consider the show as having two seasons, although none of them seemed thorough (I couldn't fair airdates to substantiate if there was a production gap after the first 13 episodes).

(Amazon Prime has the show as a single 40-episodes season but I think that can safely be disregarded as being wrong)

Normally I'd consider Nelvana's word to be good enough, but probably more people are familiar with the DVD scheme and an user unilaterally reverted the page back to two seasons this April. So I feel a vote would be helpful to have something to point to.

2 seasonsEdit

3 seasonsEdit

  1. Glowsquid (talk) - Per Proposal
  2. Waluigi Time (talk) If that's what the production company is going with, I don't see why we should use anything else.
  3. Somethingone (talk) Why should we base it on what the DVD says? If the company says it's 3, then it's 3. Nothing else said.
  4. Shokora (talk) – I'd consider it valid to follow the studio's contemporary stance of three seasons.
  5. TheFlameChomp (talk) Per all.

CommentsEdit

Erm.....Supporting and Opposing what? Supporting 2 seasons and opposing 3? Supporting 3 and Opposing 2? The options aren't helpful. Somethingone (talk) 21:35, June 11, 2021 (EDT)

Had a big senior moment there. Fixed! --Glowsquid (talk) 23:03, June 11, 2021 (EDT)

I have a questionEdit

Does anybody know from what episode is this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mx7laj2-cwc

Wouldn't this be the credits that play at the end of every episode?   Mario JC 21:30, February 25, 2023 (EST)

Include information on DKC: Return to Krocodile Isle?Edit

If you aren't aware, DKC: Return to Krocodile Isle is an animated short minute based on this show that was created by Alex Henderson Animation. Many of the show's voice actors reprise their roles here (those characters being King K. Rool, General Klump, Kaptain Skurvy, and Donkey Kong). MarioWiki:Coverage#Fan work by creators officially involved with the brand says that;

In a few instances, creators of official Super Mario works have created or been involved in unofficial productions featuring content from the Super Mario franchise. These works might merit a mention on the relevant subject's page but are not to be given full coverage as they are not endorsed by Nintendo.

Now, yes, this show was produced by Nelvana, not Nintendo, but isn't it still worth mentioning this short here somewhere? It could list which voice actors reprise their role, and possibly even lyrics to "Tip the Scale," due to that being sung by Benedict Campbell, the voice actor of King K. Rool.

And it's also worth noting that both King K. Rool and General Klump have their Return to Krocodile Isle quotes on their articles. Kaptain   Skurvy 04:41, January 13, 2025 (EST)

I think it could slot in nicely in a section about the show's reception. --Glowsquid (talk) 08:20, January 27, 2025 (EST)
I included it on the "Releases and other merchandise" section. Kaptain   Skurvy 12:33, February 8, 2025 (EST)
None of the voice actors created the characters in the fan work. Therefore, I don't believe it should be covered on the wiki. --Mjmannella (talk) 16:47, July 20, 2025 (EDT)

Donkey Kong Country: Summer TreasuresEdit

This talk page or section has a conflict or question that needs to be answered. Please try to help and resolve the issue by leaving a comment.

When doing research on this show, I stumbled upon this website that happened to have this DVD of the show I hadn't seen before, titled Donkey Kong Country: Summer Treasures. I initially just assumed it'd be like every other DVD for the show, but I'm not too sure if that's the case. I tried to find more about this DVD, and I did (kinda) find a Best Buy page of the DVD, but it has been removed from the site. I tried using reverse image search on the DVD, and the results are...interesting. It seems that this Summer Treasures DVD is a part of a "Summer Treasures" DVD series, as I managed to find some of Donkey X and Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. For this one, though...I could barely find anything, aside from the picture. If anyone happens to know further information about the DVD, or if anyone actually owns it, please let me know! Thanks! Kaptain   Skurvy 11:41, April 19, 2025 (EDT)

Now I don't know if this is actually helpful, but the cover kinda reminds me of this.  Conkdor! (T|C) 20:45, August 9, 2025 (EDT)

When did the show began prodcutionEdit

This talk page or section has a conflict or question that needs to be answered. Please try to help and resolve the issue by leaving a comment.

Perhaps I should ask this elsehwere, but is there any information on roughly when the show began production? Delsait (talk) 22:34, May 26, 2025 (EDT)

Possible official song namesEdit

This talk page or section has a conflict or question that needs to be answered. Please try to help and resolve the issue by leaving a comment.

I found a video of the French dub of "Hooray for Holly-Kongo Bongo" that was taken from this DVD, but, however, right before the episode begins, the menu of the DVD is shown...and it seems to feature a "songs" section. Now, I don't own the DVD, but I was wondering if anyone who did could check if that section gave official names to some of the songs. Kaptain   Skurvy 13:28, July 17, 2025 (EDT)
