Balloon Jump[edit]
Where does the name Balloon Jump even come from?
I was looking through the Prima guide for the game while trying to find an answer to a different question, and found that it only calls this move "Balloon Mario." Is there some dialogue from the game or its remake which uses this name? or is this page destined to be merged with Balloon Mario mere days after its creation? - I also noticed that we effectively have two different listings for this move on our Navigation template for Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey. Which term do they use for this move in game? Balloon Mario or Balloon Jump? Wandering Poplin (talk) 13:40, January 15, 2026 (EST)
- In the 3DS remake, in the Guide, then Field Actions, there is an entry named Balloon Mario. The in-game text is:
An action performed by Mario and Luigi together as a pair.
If you get close to an air vent, Mario will inhale the air and become Balloon Mario.
If you jump within this form, you'll jump higher than usual.
You can exhale the excess air by pressing. Balloon Mario cannot perform any actions other than Jump.
- I have no idea where the Balloon Jump name is from. At least this text clearly defines the name of the air vent object... --Spencer PK (talk) 05:56, March 1, 2026 (UTC)
- I just checked my text dump and the phrase "Balloon Jump" isn't anywhere in the remake. Scrooge200 (talk)
