Remove featured article status[edit]
- Xiahou Ba, The Nasty Warrior (talk) Until the placeholder images get replaced, this article should not get featured.
#SuperGamer18 (talk) sigh second time that I'm unfeaturing an old article... I won't even sugarcoat it unlike last time. This article does NOT deserve to be featured right now. There's a few uncited things here and there, but you know what really makes it unworthy of getting featured? The dreaded placeholder images. More specifically, in the "Objects and obstacles" section. There's not one, not three, but TWELVE missing images. Like last time, I went out of my way to improve a few things on this article before writing this. I will say, however, that even the adaptations of this game are covered on the wiki (to varying degrees), so red links ain't no problem here, although I do feel like the article might not be lenghty enough.
#Yoshi18 (talk) You know what? I agree with all of this. Mainly the “Objects and obstacles" part. It's a mess.
#Rykitu (talk) Per all.
#Camwoodstock (talk) Back when we helped give this game its Wikitable colors, the Objects and Obstacles section was a bullet-pointed list; not particularly great, but something we figured someone could've expanded later... It's been over six months, this page remains featured, and it's somehow grown more things to-do in its conversion to a table. Kind of a shame, as outside of the glaring disrepair that table has been in and it failing the uncited information sniff test, this page is pretty solid. Length isn't much a concern to us (Super Mario Bros. Special is even smaller in terms of byte size, and it being featured has been fairly non-contentious), it's really just that the page is visibly growing cobwebs and nobody's bothered to clean then that has us alarmed.
Keep featured article status[edit]
- ThePowerPlayer (talk) I've added every single one of the missing images to the "Objects and obstacles" table, meaning that the article no longer has any missing images. I've also verified all of the uncited claims except for the game's release date on the Virtual Console in Australia and on Game Boy - Nintendo Classics in South Korea. Since a few other articles which are currently featured are missing a small number of citations for release dates or ratings (such as Super Mario Kart), the article has now returned to the threshold of quality to be featured.
- Mr. Sorbetti (talk) Per ThePowerPlayer.
- TheUkiki (talk) Per ThePowerPlayer.
- Rykitu (talk) Per ThePowerPlayer. Nice job fixing this!
- Camwoodstock (talk) We love it when an unfeature gets resolved by simply fixing the problems in question! There's still a few unsourced dates, but it's not anything we feel like unfeaturing over just yet, when there's so much more stuff that is properly sourced. Nicely done!
- SuperGamer18 (talk) Honestly, after seeing what ThePowerPlayer has done, I don't feel like trying to unfeature this anymore. Thank you for the improvements!
- Yoshi18 (talk) Per ThePowerPlayer. You did a great job
Removal of support/oppose votes[edit]
Xiahou Ba, The Nasty Warrior (talk)
- Yoshi18 (talk) - @Xiahou Ba, The Nasty Warrior, I guess you can change your vote now as the placeholder images have already been replaced.
Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 22:36, June 17, 2026 (UTC) - Camwoodstock (talk) - ...Uhh, Xiahou Ba retired a bit ago, so it's safe to assume they won't be retracting this themselves... ^^;
