Remove featured article status

1. Salmancer (talk) This article gained featured status in 2009; this revision from 2010 should be demonstrative enough of its scope. All the Assist Trophies of Smash Brawl, 27 in all, were listed with an image and description for each. Life was good. Please compare that revision to the sad, sad state of the current article. Because this wiki hates covering Super Smash Bros. so much, its trying to cram two or three different sets of mechanics (depends on how you count) into one opening section and doing a bad job at both/all of them. If you care about the exact workings of Smash Bros for Wii U, good luck determining which sentences you do and do not have to read. "Some Assist Trophy characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl are unlockable, and almost every character is invincible" is combining two nearly unrelated properties of the Assist Trophy characters into one sentence seemingly just to keep the length down. Just bite the bullet and give the article a proper History section!
   But the real cause of why I'm putting in an unfeature nomination is that in 2024, the article was split so that this article is only about the Mario characters, reducing the number of entries from the initial count of 27 and the 2024 count of 75 to a whopping 9 characters. Sure. Fine. Reduce Smash Bros. coverage. But the featured status of this article should have been lost then or it should have been moved to the List of Assist Trophy characters because boy is the result for this page disappointing. Despite there only being nine rows, every entry is just as detailed as it was in 2024. When there are fewer entries, each one should have more content. Each character should have space for an image of all of their Smash Bros. appearances now, and ideally a paragraph per game. In splitting this page, it has been reduced from a reading experience to speed bumps with links to other articles for real information. And the articles it links to should actually build upon the list, most of them don't! Gnat Attack contains less information about Flies and Hand than this article does, and the only data Kat & Ana adds to a description largely cribbed from this page is that the 3DS/Wii U game uses the Game & Wario designs. So it's a bad read and a bad directory. Assist Trophy as it stands can't stack up to our hits like the List of weapons in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Equipment, and I think Assist Trophy continuing to have the title of Featured Article dilutes the title for all of our other articles. If Assist Trophy wants to keep its Power Star, it has to earn its keep now and not coast on having been a good article 14 years ago.
   Oh and the sentence, "This is unique in that the character released is from an actual Nintendo or third-party series, but is not playable. As a result, it introduces characters who did not make the cut as playable fighters," is illegible, there's that.
2. Sparks (talk) Yeah, most of the coverage is removed. I thought about doing this myself so thanks!
3. Camwoodstock (talk) With the wane in Smash coverage, this article doesn't really have the content to be featured. While definitely a solid article, it being fundamentally limited in its own scope thanks to Smash coverage changing definitely kneecaps it.
4. Xiahou Ba, The Nasty Warrior (talk) Honestly, featured articles that have been majorly overhauled and shrunken after their feature nomination should be re-evaluated automatically since the current article as it is wasn't evaluated in that state back in the time.
5. Mario (talk) Lengthwise and organization-wise, it could be much worse but it probably should've been just unfeatured. Per this: "If Assist Trophy wants to keep its Power Star, it has to earn its keep now and not coast on having been a good article 14 years ago"
6. Rykitu (talk) The features that made this article featured were removed? Take its featured status away along with them!
