BIO-TECH is a minigame playable in Family BASIC V3. Instructions to code the game were published in Nintendo Family Computer Series: Lode Runner, an officially licensed magazine published by Hudson Soft.

Gameplay[edit]

The player controls Mario, with the object of the game being to deposit all of the enemies on the playing field into a bottle on the right side of the screen. Certain enemies can instantly kill Mario if he touches them, while others can be walked through. To put all of the enemies in the bottle, Mario must shoot them with a projectile repeatedly. This causes the enemy's sprite to switch. If the player does this enough times, the enemy's sprite will eventually switch to that of a Sidestepper, which Mario will then begin carrying. Once Mario is carrying the enemy, the player simply needs to walk over to the opening on the right side of the stage to put the Sidestepper in the bottle. If the player puts all of the enemies in the bottle, they will proceed to the next level; however, there is no end to the amount of levels that can be displayed, making the game effectively endless.
