Adrift and Alone is the last level in Plack Beach for the story in the Bowser Jr.'s Journey mode in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey.

Overview

Kuzzle raising Iggy who lost his memories.

Bowser Jr. and Kamek find Iggy on Plack Beach, though Iggy does not recognize them and is speaking in the form of slang. Iggy's slang speech is paired with a translation textbox at the bottom of the screen. Bowser Jr. and Kamek try to talk to Iggy, then Kuzzle enters and explains that Iggy is actually his grandson named Charlie. Bowser Jr. asks what Kuzzle has done to Iggy, and everyone then moves over to Kuzzle's house to discuss further. Kuzzle then reveals that when he was walking down the beach one day, he found Iggy. A flashback is then shown to the moment the Best Fitness Friends pushed Iggy off of Cavi Cape to fall into the ocean during the level Beware Big Eaters. The next flashback shows Kuzzle finding Iggy washed up on Plack Beach, who had lost his memory. Another flashback is then shown featuring three illustrations of Kuzzle and Iggy as Kuzzle explains that he has been raising and teaching Iggy, while making sure he knows how to talk "hip". Kuzzle talks about how long he has been missing his grandson, while Bowser Jr. says that it has only been a day, then Kamek wonders how long Kuzzle thinks it has been. Kamek then declares that Iggy has amnesia. Bowser Jr. and Kamek explain that Iggy is their friend, Kuzzle asks "Charlie" if he wants to join Bowser Jr., and Iggy refuses. Bowser Jr. tells Kamek to use his magic to cure Iggy's amnesia, but Kamek replies saying that his magic "doesn't work like that". Kuzzle then discusses wanting to get Iggy's memories back to make sure that "Charlie" chooses what makes him happiest, and suggests shock therapy to Kamek's surprise. Bowser Jr. then suggests fighting Iggy instead, starting the battle.

After the battle, Iggy sees Bowser Jr. and Kamek, recognizes them, and questions why they are here instead of going after the Omega-onion. Bowser Jr. is happy that Iggy is back, while Kamek cannot believe fighting him worked in getting his memories back. Kuzzle says goodbye to "Charlie" while Iggy is unaware who Charlie is. Iggy finishes talking to Kuzzle in some slang, making Kamek realize he is not fully cured. Iggy then rejoins Bowser Jr.'s squad. Afterward, Beef and Kaley pass by Kuzzle's house heading north to Dimble Wood, while Kaley questions Beef if he really is sure that Ludwig is here, unaware that this Beef is actually Ludwig in a disguise. Bowser Jr., Kamek, and Iggy overhear Kaley mention Ludwig, and decide to follow them, while Kuzzle thinks Kaley is one of his grandchildren and rambles the names of them, which were Lizzy, Britt, Stacy, Danielle, Anna, Corrine, Darcy, Bernadette, Scarlet, Harriet, Juliet, Juliette, Julietta, Amber, Tabitha, and Pauline (though the latter three repeat constantly).
