Spooky Speedster, Super Mario Galaxy

The Spooky Speedster (referred to as Spooky in his trading card description) is a character from Super Mario Galaxy. He is an Atomic Boo wearing a helmet and an orange visor, and he challenges Mario to a race for a Power Star.

The Spooky Speedster makes his first appearance in the Ghostly Galaxy, where Mario races him in the Boo Race Zone during A Very Spooky Sprint, in which Mario must use Pull Stars to navigate through the track. He also encounters him in the Boo's Boneyard Galaxy during its only mission, Racing the Spooky Speedster, in which Mario must race through a tunnel as Boo Mario. When Mario meets the Spooky Speedster, he calls the Power Star "it", assuming Mario is also after "it", and when at the start of a race, the Spooky Speedster pulls his visor down over his eyes. If Mario reaches the finish area first, the Spooky Speedster gives him the Power Star, otherwise he loses a life.

Along with Cosmic Mario, he is a rough equivalent to Koopa the Quick and Il Piantissimo, characters who similarly race Mario for a reward.
