A Meteorite is an object found in space. It makes a notable appearance in Super Mario Galaxy 2 as an item that Mario can use. These round meteorites are gold and has a spot, similar to those of Ground Pound Switches, that Mario can hit to shoot them out at certain target like walls and even bosses. To use a meteorite, Mario simply has to be attracted by the gravity force of the object to step on its surface and then perform a Ground Pound to shoot. Meteorites appeared first in Bowser's Lava Lair, where Mario used them specially in his fight against Giant Bowser. They later appeared in Bowser's Gravity Gauntlet and Bowser's Galaxy Generator serving the same purpose.
