Good day, if you're going to post something on this talk page, from now on I will only reply on this page, unless you specifically tell me to reply on yours. Keep that in mind, and hope your day is going well.

Navigation templates / categoriesEdit

Hello, thanks for creating those articles, though in the future, please keep in mind that they should have a navigation template and category at the bottom of the page (refer to MarioWiki:Manual of Style#Navigation templates and MarioWiki:Manual of Style#Categories). In the case of Walls for demolition, it should have:

WC

You can look at other similar articles to see which navigation templates and categories to use.   Mario JC 06:20, January 11, 2021 (EST)

These articles you're creating would benefit with displaying images, so remember to add image at the top as well if there aren't any.   Mario JC 20:42, January 13, 2021 (EST)

UploadsEdit

Hello, Axis. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

or

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, Axis. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the aboutfile template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded coding is shown below.

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line of the variable(s) you don't use. If you do not wish to use the template at all, then it is acceptable to simply remove it before you upload the file. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using aboutfile incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Make sure to categorise the file and remove any parameters from the "aboutfile" template that you're not using (like "3=Artist").   Mario JC 05:32, January 3, 2022 (EST)

XylophoneEdit

Hi. I deleted the move request on the Xylophone page, as there's really no point in moving the page to a guide name if there's already an in-game name, right? PrincessPeachFan (talk) 08:32, February 6, 2022 (EST)

RE: MistakesEdit

You're welcome, nice work on the articles.   Mario JC 05:06, February 21, 2022 (EST)

Re:Fire BlockEdit

It's been a while so I don't recall exact reasons, but looking at the disambiguation page, I think it was because the Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis article is the only one to actually use "Fire Block" in the title. LinkTheLefty (talk) 11:30, April 6, 2022 (EDT)

RuinEdit

Where does the alternate name "Stone Pillar" come from? It's not in the Lost Kingdom brochure, so I'd like to know where you got it.    14:47, July 27, 2022 (EDT)

Please do not post RE: messages on my talk page. As I state at the top of my talk page in large letters, I really don't like them. They fracture discussions and make them hard to follow. It's so much easier to follow discussions when they stick to one page.
Anyway, I think "Stone Pillar" is a better name for the article, since "ruin" is used as more of a generic descriptive term than anything.    14:59, July 27, 2022 (EDT)
/[Regarding your talk page]/ > I'll keep it in mind, thanks!
/[Regarding the alternative name]/ > I believe Ruin should stay as the name of the article, because it is used the most commonly in-game and in Prima guide. Spectrogram (talk) 15:04, July 27, 2022 (EDT)

Yellow piece of the mazeEdit

You included a reference for this object's "name" that consisted entirely of the letter "G". I'm not sure what you meant to put there, but it needs fixed.    14:59, July 28, 2022 (EDT)

Treble clefEdit

Hi, just wondering: do you intend to eventually create an article on Super Mario Odyssey's treble clef?   (T|C) 15:04, August 9, 2022 (EDT)

Okay, got it. Thanks!   (T|C) 15:26, August 9, 2022 (EDT)

Spinning blockEdit

Quick question; what's the context of this name's origin? (As in, how is it used in a sentence?) S o m e t h i n g o n e !   09:14, August 10, 2022 (EDT)

Yeah, that's not really much of a name. It's just a description of what they are; a block that spins/rotates. S o m e t h i n g o n e !   18:44, August 10, 2022 (EDT)

New articlesEdit

A couple things regarding the Odyssey pages, make sure to tag any articles that need images but don't have one with image, and that they're linked to somewhere on the wiki, otherwise they become orphaned pages.   Mario JC 09:03, August 11, 2022 (EDT)

MonitaEdit

I don't know if you're aware of this, but we used to have an article on Monita, but it was deleted via proposal. If you want it restored, you have to start another proposal. Also, if you feel the need to add a stub template to a new article you just created, you should hold off on creating it; creating new stub articles is against policy.    15:03, August 14, 2022 (EDT)

About this Pinballer editEdit

Do you think it would be acceptable to point out that the Pinballer and F.L.U.D.D. share the exact same colors with no mention of a possible involvement with E. Gadd? --Conradd (talk) 11:35, August 16, 2022 (EDT)

Some minor formatting stuffEdit

On that proposal you just made: why did you link to the affected articles with a full URL instead of just using these? Seems unnecessary and just adds clutter. Also you should use Template:fake link to link to proposed article creations instead of redlinking them, just in case the proposal doesn't pass.    17:15, August 19, 2022 (EDT)

To be honest, I just like full links a lot more. Spectrogram (talk) 15:51, August 20, 2022 (EDT)

Re:Nintendo Land eggEdit

I haven't played this in a long while, but you can see one here (though it seems they're just referred to as "eggs" here, but filename content/Common/Model/Ttl_St_Ysi_Yoshi_egg.szs makes it clear it's Yoshi's. LinkTheLefty (talk) 14:49, August 21, 2022 (EDT)

About your proposalEdit

Do you have a response to Hewer's comment? I personally agree with him that the proposal is unnecessary, not to mention it feels like a knee-jerk reaction to a single edit that declared those proposals implemented without checking to see if the relevant policy pages had been updated to account for them. Simply message an admin with the necessary changes so the pages can be updated, this issue does not require a proposal.    18:54, September 6, 2022 (EDT)

This isn't the case, I believe the proposal is necessary. It's ok if others do not feel the same way about it, but I believe it is needed. Spectrogram (talk) 00:50, September 7, 2022 (EDT)
Why, though? You outright stated that you made the proposal in response to a single edit. A single editor's whims cannot be considered representative of the community as a whole. The thought of the policy pages needing updated probably just slipped RHG's mind. The problem could have been easily solved by messaging an admin with the necessary policy page changes or a simple revert with an edit summary explaining why the job wasn't fully done. No need to make a Cookie Mountain out of a Monty Mole hill here.    13:29, September 7, 2022 (EDT)
You have a point, I'll think about it some more and potentially cancel a proposal. Spectrogram (talk) 13:46, September 7, 2022 (EDT)

RE: Use of parts of images in different formatsEdit

It's better to crop directly from the original file to preserve the original quality and format (so it's not like a png that looks like a jpg, in some cases). As for the ones already uploaded, what's done is done, but in the future, best to save the image directly and use that. If you're getting those Nintendo Power scans from Archive.org, though (like this), they can use reuploading anyway since the images there are actually bigger than the ones you uploaded (all the more reason to use the source image rather than screenshotting the webpage).   Mario JC 04:30, March 2, 2023 (EST)

Nintendo e-mailEdit

To which address did you e-mail your question regarding the Mario Day song? Nintendo of America's website doesn't have an e-mail address listed on the Customer Support page (as is the case with Nintendo's websites for regions outside of the Americas), and nintendo@noa.nintendo.com has long been discontinued. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 09:48, April 5, 2023 (EDT)

Not an email, they will just respond through email. On their Customer Support page you can create a ticket and attach your email address, you don't even need to be logged in. Spectrogram (talk) 10:16, April 5, 2023 (EDT)

YouTube videosEdit

Whenever you create an article, please link it somewhere, otherwise it may end up orphaned. In the case of those YouTube video articles, they should be linked in the TV series and films template. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 10:13, April 16, 2023 (EDT)

Mario Pinball LandEdit

Do you have proof that Bob-ombs are called cannonball bombs as of Mario Pinball Land? Dwhitney (talk) 17:00, May 13, 2023 (EDT)

Nintendo Power, issue ?? (look at sources under Boss statue). It only refers to Bob-ombs that appear during Porcupuffer boss fight (the rolling type). Not at home, can't check myself Spectrogram (talk) 01:35, May 14, 2023 (EDT)

Talk:Wario's Warehouse#Delete page and anything related to it from the wikiEdit

Just letting you know I've updated the proposal with a new option: "Move page to the BJAODN archive and remove anything else related to it from the wiki". -- KOOPA CON CARNE 16:15, May 27, 2023 (EDT)

Sorry, but this option is even worse Spectrogram (talk) 16:18, May 27, 2023 (EDT)

New Wonder Flower pageEdit

Thanks for creating the new Wonder Flower page, because my version was not very great and it was deleted. PetrPro (talk) 12:46, June 21, 2023 (EDT)

Nintendo Direct projectEdit

I noticed you started work on a Nintendo Direct article. Coincidentally, this is something I started on my computer as well, but didn't get farther than this intro paragraph:

Nintendo Direct is a brand of online presentations broadcast by Nintendo in which information is relayed about the company's upcoming content. These presentations typically bring together announcements and showcases for multiple franchises, although a number of them have focused on a particular franchise or production. Since the brand's inception in 2011, Nintendo Direct presentations have been broadcast in a variety of formats to an international audience.

Do you think you can integrate it in some way on your page? -- KOOPA CON CARNE 08:49, July 1, 2023 (EDT)

Done! Spectrogram (talk) 09:19, July 1, 2023 (EDT)

RE: Nintendo archivalEdit

Since they're lengthy and likely a lot of them, rather than copy/pasting every article, I think there should be a list page of Play Nintendo news articles with only the titles (and subtitles) and links to the Wayback Machine archive webpages next to them (or the originals if they're still up), and if necessary maybe even summaries and images.   Mario JC 09:53, July 14, 2023 (EDT)
