*Dovo is the only ''Wario's Woods'' monster whose name doesn't have a fairly recognizable meaning, although the acronym DOVO does indeed stand for "Dienst voor Opruiming en Vernietiging van Ontploffingstuigen", a Belgian organization whose name is translated to English as "Belgian Explosive Ordnance Disposal". Due to the obscurity of this group, though, it is most likely that Dovo was not named after it and the word "Dovo" was simply conjured by ''Wario's Woods''<nowiki>'</nowiki> programmers as a game-exclusive term.

First appearance Wario's Woods (1994)

Dovos[1] are ghost-like creatures from Wario's Woods. They are less common than Spuds, Fuzzes, and Squeaks, as common as Spooks, and more common than Beakers and Scrams. They are most formidable in that two bombs are required to destroy them, although they merely change color when hit rather than giving Toad only a limited time to hit them again, as Spooks do.
