In general, it seems to have a tropical or seaside-island resort theme to it, as can be seen by the many shacks found throughout the course. Blooper Bay also seems to be based on Gelato Beach, an area in Isle Delfino during Super Mario Sunshine.

- Most of the bunkers and small ponds in this course make shapes of several creatures and food items.
- Even though the course is named Blooper Bay, there are no Bloopers that appear. However, there is a bunker that is shaped like a Blooper.
