- At the E3 2012, Nintendo has revealed New Super Mario Bros. U(pictured) and Game & Wario for Wii U. For the Nintendo 3DS, New Super Mario Bros. 2 was reannounced; also, Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon were announced as new titles as well.
- In the latest Nintendo Direct, Satoru Iwata announced the redesign of the Wii U and the Wii U Game Pad. The Wii U Pro Controller and the social network Miiverse are also introduced.
- Mario Kart 7 was released in South Korea on May 31, 2012.
- Mario Tennis Open was released in Europe on May 25, in Japan and Australia on May 24, and in North America on May 20, 2012.
