Please note that in the movie, Bowser is officially named "King Koopa". Son of Suns 20:03, 31 May 2006 (EDT)

I'm gonna remove the blurry pic, unless there's any objections to it. Anyone?

What do you mean by "blurry pic"? The artwork? In that case, no. Gofer

Subspecies

How are Clubbas a subspecies of Spikes?

They are very similar looking and they use a spike ball in some sort of way.Fuzzy in New Super Mario Bros. UYoshiGo99Artwork of a Yoshi egg on a tilt. It is unknown whether this artwork was released with a certain game or not.

In case anyone considers splitting Yoshi's Story Gabons from Spikes

So according to Walkazo here, merging Gabon article with Spike article shoudn't have happened because this proposal should have been no quorum. I'm going to make some points why I support this merge. These points are based on appearance, function and name (the three that I feel are the most used points).

  • Appearance: Gabons display some drastic differences from Spikes, mainly the lack of hair, different eyes and padded stomach. But they do have shells like Spikes. Appearance is thus debatable.
  • Function: Both spit spiked balls and throw them. So that's a point for how they act.
  • Name: This Japanese Yoshi's Story video shows that Gabon is indeed called ガボン gabon in Japan, and thus its Japanese name officially matches with Spike's. This also means that the translators got That's another point for having Gabon in Spike article.

So in the end, aside from appearance, Gabon and Spike should be kept in a single article imo because the name matches and because they behave quite similarly.

And now that I'm here, could we move this talk page to Talk:Spike page? It's really confusing to see the redirect and the redlink "article" folder on the top. Especially when this Spike's article is currently named "Spike". SmokedChili (Talk) (Thoughts) 12:59, 4 May 2015 (EDT)

"--the translators got the name wrong." is what I meant to say about the name being a point. SmokedChili (Talk) (Thoughts) 05:54, 5 May 2015 (EDT)

Decide if Spikes are a derived-species of Koopas

On the Spike’s page, it is explained that Spike is a Koopa and a derived species. I took the time to check Spikes’s physic and those of a few Koopas and I do not think Spike are a derived species of Koopas as it is currently indicated on Spike’s page. Spike’s skin can be green, blue or sky blue in color (Spike, Stone Spike and Snow Spike). While Koopas have yellow skin (except Morton Koopa Jr. apparently). Secondly, I do not think there is a clue or a source which implies that Spike is a Koopa.
