Edits

Welcome! Thanks for your edits on Bowser Jr., but in the future, please try to make all the changes you want to make in one edit. It is reccomended to use the "Show Preview" button (To the right of the "Save Page" button) to see how your edits look without saving. Thanks! This user was making fairly spaced-apart edits in different sections of the article, so this post wasn't really necessary in the context of their recent edits. K.K. Slider costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 21:29, 12 August 2018 (EDT)

Infobox image

Hello. Please note that the character infobox should only use the most recent image not specialised for a particular game. In other words, it should only depict the character itself (with no objects, characters etc. next to them), and since there isn't one from his latest appearance, we use the most recent one available, so please do not change it back until a newer one is released. Thanks. K.K. Slider costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 02:46, 13 August 2018 (EDT)

File uploads

Hello, Baconator2558. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

[[Category:Super Mario World images]]
or
[[Category:Super Mario World media files]]

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

On the upload page, please remember to select the appropriate licensing from the drop-down menu, and replace {{uncategorized}} with one of the categories found through the above links, as both are important when uploading files (so for an image from Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, you'd add [[Category:Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey Images]]). Please remember also to select a license from the "Licensing" drop-down menu on the upload page, as I mentioned above. For screenshots, you'd select "Video game screenshot". K.K. Slider costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 21:02, 29 January 2019 (EST)

Your images need the license template on them. It's very simple to do this. K.K. Slider costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 22:11, 29 January 2019 (EST)

Really, you need to pay attention to this, or eventually, you'll get blocked. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:16, 29 January 2019 (EST)

It shouldn't be a hassle to do this even when uploading in batches. K.K. Slider costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 22:20, 29 January 2019 (EST)

Sorry, I didn't see this message. I was uploading several images and I didn't check in between. I'm planning on uploading more images tomorrow and I'll make sure to do this. Sorry for any trouble.

You should check your messages anyway as soon as you receive them as there could be something important. There was even time between the Bowser Jr. and Koopaling images. K.K. Slider costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 22:41, 29 January 2019 (EST)

I just uploaded a new image with the license. I was wondering if it is possible to add a license without going to the main upload page. Because I was uploading multiple images to be used in the same section of the same page, I was uploading my images from the edit page. I tried to use this method to upload a licensed image. However, I couldn't find an option to add a license from this menu. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, you can add the license template after uploading if you know the right one to use. Here's a full list of the licensing templates. However,

Hello, Baconator2558. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below.

{{aboutfile
|1=Subject of the image
|2=Where you found the image
|3=Artist
|4=Describe edits, if any
|5=Other versions (use file link)
}}

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

You also need to fill out the aboutfile template, or just remove it completely. Don't leave the example explanations there, but you can remove any parameters you aren't going to use. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 22:37, 29 January 2019 (EST)
What do you mean by uploading from the edit page? Didn't you upload from Special:Upload? If you missed the license, just add ==Licensing== with {{game-screenshot}} underneath (if it's a game screenshot), but it's much easier selecting it from the menu as you're uploading them on Special:Upload.
