The Wario Robo is a modified version of the Mario Robo that Wario implemented after conquering the Mario Land in Super Mario Land 2 - 6-tsu no Kinka 2 of the Super Mario Kodansha manga.

Initially, the Mario Zone robot seems perfectly normal. After Mario and Princess Peach defeated Witch, Wario sics it against the two, and when they see the Three Little Pigheads entering the robot after stealing their collected Golden Coins, Mario jumps inside the robot, while Peach is grabbed by it. At that point, the face of the robot melts into Wario's. The robot does not have its own mentality; it is controlled by the Pigheads in the control room located in the head. After Peach is restrained, Wario gives the permission for one of the pigs to marry her. They try to decide the lucky groom with a house-building contest on top of the robot's head. Peach still refuses to declare any of them winner, so they threaten to slam her to the ground, but thanks to Mario's intervention, their first attempt is thwarted, and even after restraining him on a crane, Luigi arrives driving the Luigi Robo for a mech fight. Luigi ends up losing the battle, but during that, Bear removes the battery from the Wario Robo and Mario is able to finish off the bosses and destroy the robot.
