Green Spiny Eggs[1] are enemies in Super Mario Bros. 3. They are green-colored variants of Spiny Egg that, instead of turning into Spinies upon touching the ground, stay indefinitely in their egg form. Upon touching the ground, they bounce a few times while moving in the player's direction, where the speed of their movement depends on how fast the Lakitu is moving. After some time, they stop bouncing and start rolling along the ground toward the player, turning around when they touch a wall. They can be defeated by being hit with a fireball from a Fire Mario, by being hit with the tail of Tanooki Mario, or by being hit with a Hammer from Hammer Mario. They first appear in World 3-4 and return in World 7-3.
