Hello there, 'Shroom readers! Welcome to Issue 222, where to celebrate the amount of 2's in the number, we're going to be giving you two sets of notes! What do you mean we do that every month? I'm always the last to know these things...
How about that main page, huh? The changing seasons bring a new autumnal design for our side banners, and Ninja Squid (talk) is also rolling out a brand new main banner! I'm assuming you've already seen it, unless you're reading the paper in such a way that you got to the Staff Notes before the front page, and if that's the case I'm honestly impressed. Doesn't it look great, though? Goes really well with the rendition of Maple Treeway's theme from Mario Kart World, trust me! And now we know where Toadsworth's been all these years, he's just been busy reading The 'Shroom. Time well spent, I say.
We're still a few months away from our Holiday Special, but it's late September already so it'll be here before you know it! The theme for Issue 225 will be outer space - and I swear we came up with this before the Nintendo Direct, just ask the rest of the staff, they'll back me up on this! Obviously, Super Mario Galaxy will be a strong focus, but we're keeping it broad. Metroid, Pikmin, Star Fox, even things that aren't Nintendo or even video games at all, they're all welcome at the party! There's no shortage of space-related themes out there to pick from for sections, just ask Team Sci-Fi!

How are you doing everybody? Fall arrives in just two days, can you believe that? It'll be the perfect time for pumpkin-flavored products and apple-cinnamon tea... yummy!
A lot of great stuff happened these past three weeks! In preparation for the "Wukong's Journey" DLC of Kingdom Rush Alliance (which releases in 5 days!), I've decided to get both DLC expansions for Kingdom Rush Vengeance, and BOY are they fun! I also got my Twilight Sparkle plushie IRL last week! Now my staff portrait is accurate. I also purchased Hollow Knight and plan on playing that this Thanksgiving break! Are you all enjoying Silksong? I hope so! Hopefully one day I'll play that too...
We also got to see a new Nintendo Direct! The biggest surprise is the existence of BABY WALUIGI. He's no longer an unoffical fanmade character, nope! He actually kinda resembles that image from 2008... do you think Nintendo got inspiration? My mind was blown when I saw him.
Only three weeks to submit sections? That's not a problem because we still have fantastic guest sections!
- Interestingly, we have three News Flushes in Fake News:
- Boo1268 reports on the incredible success of coconut crab Cocatan after she listened to Waluigi Time's very own advice! Demand for coconuts has never been higher!
- It can't be... there's a shortage of Waluigi Time Cereal?! Aomaf (talk) gives a news report on why such this is happening. The problem is more scary than you think!
- Do you remember Shoey (talk)'s News Flush from Issue 220 about Planet Stasiak? We have new information from the Toad Brigade that they believed to have found the Planet Stasiak! There's a cool picture by TPG (talk) included!
