Hot Lips are Spray Fish?[edit]
On the Hot Lips article, why is it saying that Hot Lips are Spray Fish if they look completely different? 51.183.19.94 15:00, May 6, 2026 (UTC)
- The Japanese name for Hot Lips suggests it's a lava variant of Spray Fish. They also show nearly identical behavior, but with lava instead of water.

- How are most of those examples stranger than this one? Of course the Dry Bones from the Beanbean Kingdom are the skeletons of Troopeas, which are essentially Koopa Troopas from the Beanbean Kingdom. Robo Kikki here being the robot version of Monchee is basically the same deal as Hot Lips being a lava version of the Spray Fish, as the two also behave the same between each other. Sometimes, you just have to accept that some enemies are variants of, or at least related to, enemies that look nothing alike, like how Tropical Wiggler and Mechawiggler are both Wigglers. rend (talk) (edits) 19:15, May 6, 2026 (UTC)
- The Troopea connection is unconfirmed. I recently had to remove that info from the article because our only evidence for it is mostly centered around coincidences, guesswork, and retroactive assumptions, unlike the situation with Hot Lips, where they have a similar Japanese name, and nearly identical behavior.
