The actual identity of the "secret passage"[edit]
I was under the impression that the "secret passage" mentioned in dialogue was Rainbow Road itself, not the Hightail Falls Galaxy-esque area prior to that; I'd just assumed that that was another unnamed stretch of the Jungle Kingdom. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:25, April 26, 2023 (EDT)

- It's not a part of Rainbow Road though, it just leads to it. For me it's hard to justify merging it with either Rainbow Road or Jungle Kingdom because there's no confirmation it's a part of either of those. Axii (talk) 13:07, October 3, 2024 (EDT)

I really wish I had my DVD to check the world guide feature if it helps. Still, the relevant dialogue is as follows.
"They are heading toward their secret passage"
Koopa General, when revealing the protagonists' plan to Bowser, 0:55:xx, Fandango closed captions
Yeah, this doesn't look good for the page "secret passage". Short of anything else, the line is probably trying to say Rainbow Road without spoiling that its Rainbow Road to the audience, as the reveal for Rainbow Road is very much meant as a setpiece in itself. And therefore, there isn't a discrete "secret passage" Salmancer (talk) 05:17, February 16, 2026 (UTC)
Oh, I guess I should add the roughly equivalent Cranky Kong line for completion's sake.

Cranky Kong very definitely means "Rainbow Road" without saying "Rainbow Road" here, as he is explaining how they can beat Bowser to the Mushroom Kingdom. This line is in close proximity to the line from the prior post, and why would that line mean something different from this line? It would be confusing for them to be referring to different things while being this close to each other. It is more likely that the Koopa General formalness compared to Cranky Kong's flippantness result in different lines that refer to the same thing. Salmancer (talk) 05:48, February 16, 2026 (UTC)
