While these two games are technically regional variants of each other (which, in a sense, is what Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic was to Super Mario Bros. 2 before the release of Super Mario USA), Mario Open Golf features a significant amount of differences, including more obstacles and traps, additional holes, a different title and plot, a scoring limit, and the removal of characters - not notable otherwise, as many ports from an arcade machine to a console removed things at the time, but this was a version of the game released on the same console. In addition, two other versions of this game with a similar name - Mario's Open Golf on the PlayChoice-10 and Mario Open Golf: Full Version on Nintendo Switch Online - were also developed, which could be mentioned on this new article instead of the current one.

Split Open Golf[edit]
- Nelsonic Open Golf (talk) Per proposal.
Don't Split Open Golf[edit]
- Hewer (talk) Per the opposition here. We shouldn't be splitting the same game released in different regions, it's misleading and unhelpful. Regional differences in a game can easily be covered on the game's article without requiring a split for every slight variation.
Comments Open Golf[edit]
- @Hewer Understood. I had.. actually forgotten about that proposal. I was suggesting a split because there were a significant amount of differences, including a differing title and multiple exclusive courses. I'll withdraw.

The courses and their holes actually are completely different, by the way. Though the same can be said of the three versions of Stroke & Match Golf. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:33, June 7, 2025 (EDT)
- I don't see how splitting it into a separate article would help us cover that better than if we just explained it in one place. Hewer (talk · contributions · edit count) 18:38, June 7, 2025 (EDT)
