The app's version 8.0.0 update changed the app's subtitle from "Nintendo Switch Online" to "Nintendo Classics". It also added button remapping and updated the CRT screen filter, and, on the Nintendo Switch 2, the application now runs at a resolution of 1080p. in handheld mode. There were no changes for resolution in TV mode and the controls page still shows a Joy-Con or a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller even when a Joy-Con 2 or a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is connected, unlike [[Super Nintendo Entertainment System - Nintendo Classics]] onward.
