This template displays a plaintext straight apostrophe ('), for situations where typing a regular apostrophe would interfere with formatting, such as MediaWiki's syntax highlighter extension.

The most common use case for this is marking the possessive of an italicized noun, such as "Super Mario World's". Attempting to format that as ''Super Mario World'''s will cause the syntax highlighter to recognize the triple apostrophe as bold text, and mistakenly mark all following text as if it was bolded. Utilizing the template and writing it as ''Super Mario World''{{'}}s circumvents this issue.
