Mister Encyclopedia, who goes by the shortened name Mr. E, is a character in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. He is a sentient encyclopedia with eyes and a white mustache on his cover. He keeps information on many unusual creatures, although he is physically unable to read his own pages, as his eyes are on his front cover. He falls from the sky onto an island inhabited by Yoshis, and in the process forgot all the data within him about the creatures.[1] Yoshi jumps into Mr. E's pages to help Mr. E by learning about the creatures.[2] It appears that the game's levels occur within Mr. E's pages.

Naming[edit]

"Mr. E" is a pun on "mystery", similar to his original Japanese name.
