Kamekame-ya is a turtle shop created by Bowser, located in Japan in 1687, which appears in the "Time Traveler" storyline of the Super Mario Kodansha manga.

While time traveling with Chibi Peach, Bowser ingratiates himself with Tokugawa Tsunayoshi to the extent that he alters his animal edicts to protect only turtles. He soon makes another change to force people to buy shells to wear, promising painful punishments for whoever refuses, and soon enough he becomes a rich tycoon able to make a palace of his shell shop, now resembling Bowser in the pose of a Maneki-neko. With this, Bowser fulfills the promise made with Chibi Peach to marry her as soon as he builds her a nice castle, but fearing she will lose interest before she reaches the legal age, he intends to use the 20-bai Spray, thinking this would age her up, but instead she just grows in size, breaks the castle, and Bowser puts the nail in the coffin by using the spray on himself, ending up with a giant head and causing the collapse of the whole building.
