"Real men aren't afraid to act effeminate."

—Stumpers, Views on Life

Stumpers is the username of a quirky writer for the Super Mario Wiki. While he is still a relatively new member of the Wiki, his writing skills have been built by a hard-working English teacher in seventh grade and A-Level English classes throughout high school. In his senior year, he plans to take AP English, a college level class. It is speculated that this may be Stumpers’ destruction. He also writes for his high school’s newspaper. However, whether any of these self-proclaimed qualifications means anything may only be assessed by other writers and, most importantly, readers.

Biography

File:SMBDX.jpg
Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, the game responsible for it all.

Stumpers’ parents always new they ultimately wanted two children. Because their first, Stumps, had turned out so well, they did not suspect the mess they were getting into by having a second child, Stumpers. Unlike Stumps, Stumpers was more energetic and less goal-oriented. Stumpers took after his mother’s personality, but grew up in a much more stable environment. The combination was explosive. At the age of three, Stumpers fell down a step onto the concrete floor of his parents’ garage, breaking his nose. It is unknown if this incident contributed to his wild, slightly neurotic tendencies.

Video games always played an important role in Stumpers’ life. From the near-beginning, his father would rent a Sega Genesis as a special treat. Eventually, he purchased one, and Stumpers’ grew to love Ms. Pac-Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, and many others. Near the middle of elementary school, Stumpers’ parents surprised him and his brother with a Nintendo 64 and Diddy Kong Racing . It was then that the true video game fandom began. Banjo-Kazooie shortly followed. His entry into the Mario series was Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the Game Boy. Viewing the game as a slice of “perfection” in the world, he played it to no end, unlocking nearly every secret the game had to offer. Other games followed, but that first game was likely the best for Stumpers.

As he grew up, Stumpers stayed under the wings of his parents, blissfully unaware of the animalistic, violent society that surrounded him. His first real taste of the cruelty of the world came during his first year of middle school, where he found himself “un-cool” and thus abandoned by his friends. After a tumultuous period, Stumpers found new friends, became broken in, and began to emerge as the person he is today: weird and proud of it.

High school saw less-dramatic changes to Stumpers. Many more like-minded people went to the high school than the middle school, and they banded together, forming a very nerdy, but feisty group. Stumpers also became more aware of the world of pop-culture. In addition to beginning to put stops on his wildness based on the situation, he also became obsessed with music. Enya, Pink, Shakira, and others brought him much happiness when he felt down. He also began to gain political beliefs, being classified as an absolute moderate, with no swing to either party, according to a political ideology test.

Once a writer of the main Wikipedia, Stumpers joined the Super Mario Wiki and left Wikipedia to “rot in its uppity ways.” Preferring to write his own articles, he seeks out badly written articles and stubs to build up. The results of his efforts can best be seen in the articles on Mario Strikers Charged and the Mushroom Kingdom.

Do you know Stumpers on the Internet? Here are some of his aliases:

I've been a fan of the Super Mario Bros. series since I got Mario Party for the N64. From there I went on to get Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Mario Tennis, and Yoshi's Story, to name a few.

My hobbies include running (not competitively), art (or cartooning :D), flash animation (just started :D), and of course video games. Sometimes I get a book or two that I actually like, but that's pretty rare. English class ruined reading for fun for me. Some of my faves off hand: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (numbers 1-3. wouldn't recomend 4-6), many of Daniel Pinkwater's novels, and Watership Down.

For those wondering why I call myself Stumpers, it's not because I'm so weird that I'm a "stumper" to figure out. Stumpers is a game series of mine, based on puzzles or RPG-style gameplay. The main character's name was Stumper. How clever. The name Stumpers came about because of a typo on my part that I realized too late. I figured, "what the heck" and went with it, though. They were made on PowerPoint, and it looks like the last game will be flash (RPGs are really tough!). Perhaps in the future I will put one or two of them up online. I was worried about copywrites until I learned that, apparently, everything you create is automatic copywrite, unless you made it at work and there is some sort of company policy for that kind of thing. Then the company might own it! >_<

Baby Articles

The following are the articles that I started. Please note the styling in the game articles!

Adopted Articles

(An adopted article is one that I didn't create, but almost completely overhauled.)

Step aside Peach, or Daisy's gonna kick yo' petite boo-tay!
  • Mario Character: Daisy She's hot and spunky! Do I need any more reasons?
  • Classic Video Game: Pac-Man If you have to ask why, you need to get out more. Or hang around more message boards.
  • Modern Video Game: Paper Mario My first RPG! I must have played it at least five times, but probably more, and I've started a new save file!

  • Food:
    • Sushi Are you brave enough to try it? It's good if you go to the right places... and make sure that said place makes it fresh! AND NO PUFFERFISH!
    • Thai Fried Rice Keep your Micky-Dee's and KFC! Pad Thai, Etc. is where it's at! Yes... the "Etc." is part of the restaurant name.
  • Books:
    • The Things They Carried If you've ever thought about going to war or are curious about what soldiers go through, I'm told that this book is as accurate as books get. I wouldn't know, but I DO know that it is riviting and deep.
    • Watership Down It's about rabbits on a quest to flee from a doomed land and then to find hot rabbit chicks! And it's not like Red Wall!
  • Hangin' Out Style Thang: DDR, of course! Normal DDR is better than Mario Mix for me.
