Buster Beetle
Buster Beetle from Super Mario Bros. 3.
First appearance Super Mario Bros. 3 (1988)
Latest appearance Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition (2010)
Variant of Buzzy Beetle
Comparable

Buster Beetles[1][2] are strong and quick-moving bipedal Buzzy Beetles who throw White Blocks at Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. 3. The player can use any attack to instantly defeat these enemies, as unlike most other members of the Buzzy Beetle family, Buster Beetles are not impervious to fireballs, nor do they hide in their shells when stomped. They appear in most underground cavern levels, especially in Ice Land. However, the first one that appears is at the beginning of World 5-1, which is completely devoid of White Blocks, and as such, the Buster Beetle simply appears as a quick-moving enemy.

A Buster Beetle appears on the box art for Super Mario Bros. Print World.

Although Buster Beetles never return outside of remakes, shell-less Blue Koopa Troopas from Super Mario World and Outmaways from Super Mario Bros. Wonder both attack in a similar way, by kicking blocks and other objects at the player.

Block-throwing Buzzy Beetle
When Mario approaches, it throws White Blocks at him. Despite this aggressiveness, its defense is weak. It is the only one among the Buzzy Beetle series that can be attacked by a stomping attack. Let's defeat it by stomping on it.
