Random Mario Opinion
I had an opinion that I felt like telling someone... Mario games occasionally have a certain element or character that would be great if used again in a different place or way, but they aren't, so they're basically wasted potential. I think the best example of this is the Super Mario World enemy, the Dino-Torch (and its relative, the Dino Rhino. They appeared in Super Mario World, little green dinosaurs that breathe fire, and they were one of my favorite enemies in the game.  Many other enemies made their first appearance in SMW, like the Monty Mole and Wiggler, which appeared again in later games like SM64, became known enemies of the Mario series, and maybe eventually became playable in a sports game. Of course, some enemies were not as successful; Rex and Spike Top, for example, never became significant Mario enemies, but at least appeared a few more times in RPGs. Even one of the game's most obscure enemies, Bony Beetle, made a quick appearance as an enemy in an underground part of Bowser's Castle. Only one enemy was completely forgotten: that Dino-Torch/Dino Rhino. I don't get why. Were they bad or useless ideas? Quite the opposite, there are few enemies like it. I don't get why Nintendo just threw away the idea like that. They could have been reused in pretty much any game. Imagine this: If Dino-Torches became more major enemies, one could be a Paper Mario partner! How cool would that be? He could light up lamps and stuff, as well as having a fiery attack. And they could appear in Super Mario 64: they would look pretty cool in 3D. Maybe there would be different colored varieties? They could maybe even be team players in a Mario Baseball game. But they don't have to be such major enemies, but it would have been nice to give them at least a few more quick appearances.

Welcome to my userpage! I'm CrystalYoshi (I like crysals and I like the Yoshis so there you go-- A good name for me!). I've been here for about a year here but I'm not so active anymore. I used add to article talk page and vote and comment in proposals a lot but now I don't really do anything here; I've gotten pretty busy with real life stuff. In case you're wondering who I am in real life, I'm a middle school boy who likes playing Mario games on the weekends.

Mario games, characters, and stuff that I like

I have a Nintendo DS and a Wii, and I used to have a Game Boy Advance. Despite my username, I like Mario games just as much as Yoshi games.

 • Super Paper Mario is probably my favorite Mario game of all time; I love the gameplay, story, levels, and characters. 2nd is Super Mario Galaxy, because the new gameplay elements are fun and the galaxies are cool. 3rd is New Super Mario Bros. 'cause of the classic Mario platformer style, which I really like.
 • I like some 2D platformers, like New Super Mario Bros. which is my favorite one. I also like Super Mario World and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island for GBA, because of the classic style and interesting levels. I also palyed Super Mario Bros. 3 (for GBA and later, Virtual Console), which I liked (except that you can't replay levels). I also like Super Princess Peach a little, but not as much as the others.
 • I also like some RPG games, like Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga for it's good gameplay, story, and places. Also, it was one of the first Mario games I played... so it brings back memories for me. The sequel, M&L: Partners in Time, I didn't think was as good; to sci-fi. I also like Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
 • I don't love the 3D platformers quite as much: Super Mario Galaxy was great, but the others were just "pretty good."
 • Yoshi's Island (the game) is better than the sequel, Yoshi's Island DS. So the DS sequel had a few more babies. The original had items, more levels, more fun levels, and I just liked playing it better, somehow.

I used to like Yoshi the best, hence the name. But now I like Toad a little more, as Yoshi. It's partly because I used to like the color green but now I don't. Also, I think that if I was involved in a Mario adventure, I would play the role of Toad. (-: I like the Yoshi species a little better than the Toad species, though.
Orange Yoshis are the best... if there was a notable Orange Yoshi character, that would be my favorite character. I also like Boo a lot, and also Diddy Kong and Princess Daisy a little. My favorite kind of Koopa is, by far, Magikoopa.

Oh by the way, I joined Mario Fanon Wiki which is basically the wiki where you make your own Mario games. I made a few, you can see them if you want.

Random Mario Opinion
