- Universal Studios sued Nintendo over the original Donkey Kong (pictured), claiming it infringed their property rights on King Kong.
- The original Donkey Kong was meant to have Pop-Eye characters, but Nintendo couldn't get the rights to them. They were Bluto,Popeye,and Olive Oyl.
- Super Mario Strikers is the only Mario Nintendo GameCube game to support 16:9 widescreen as well as 480p.
- Boos were originally named "Boo" Diddlys, a pun on the late rock star Bo Diddley.
