- Wario Land 4 (pictured) is the final Wario Land game released on a handheld system and the last active development credit for Wario's creator, Hiroji Kiyotake.
- Princess Shokora's name is a Japanese romanization of the French word chocolat ("chocolate").
- The Wario Car is based on a 1958 Cadillac Eldorado and also resembles the Batmobile from the Batman comics.
- The boss Cractus appeared in WarioWare: Move It!, making it the first character originating from the Wario Land series to cross over to the WarioWare series.
