Template:Portrait-infobox Poltergeist (known as Boffin in PAL versions) is a mini-boss in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. While Luigi explores the Gloomy Manor, Professor E. Gadd insists he capture this ghost for study purposes. An Ancient Poltergeist is the mini-boss of Old Clockworks, and a Strong Poltergeist is the mini boss of Treacherous Mansion. The Poltergeist can also be encountered as a boss on the ScareScraper under the name of The Brain. The Brain is the same as the regular Poltergeist except it has 300 HP and is much larger than normal.

These big-headed know-it-alls have swollen brains (and egos) that afford them telekinetic power. Sadly, their sense of humour seems to be underdeveloped.
